MEETING OF: Senior Commission

CALL TO ORDER: Commissioner O'Connell called the Regular Meeting to order at 3:00 p.m.
ROLL CALL was taken by the secretary as follows:
Present: O'Connell, Savary and Surridge
Absent: Hopkins and Nelson
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: Commissioner Savary led the Pledge of Allegiance.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES: On motion by Savary, the Minutes of the previous meeting were
unanimously approved.
Minutes of the Regular Meeting held January 7, 2010.
CONSENT CALENDAR:
1. AGENDA ITEM 0410-1 SUMMARY REPORT OF JANUARY 7. 2010
ACTION: On motion by Commissioner Savary, Commission
unanimously accepted the January 7, 2010 Summary Report.
AYES: O'Connell, Savary and Surridge
NOES: None
ABSENT: Hopkins and Nelson
DEPARTMENT REPORTS:
2- AGENDA ITEM 0410-2 CITY REALIGNMENT
Received a presentation on the city's organizational structure realignment
from Communication Manager, Kristina Ray.
3. AGENDA ITEM 0410-3 VOLUNTEER RECOGNITION EVENT
In the absence of Chairperson Nelson, Commissioner O'Connell read a letter
from Chairperson Nelson acknowledging staff for doing an excellent job producing
a very successful Volunteer Recognition event. Gail Lynn, also thanked staff for
their group effort. The overall comments from the invitees were very positive.
Lynn also thanked the commissioners for covering the cost of the alcohol
refreshments and for their overall support.

4. AGENDA ITEM 0410-4 ELECTION OF CHAIRPERSON AND VICE CHAIRPERSON
ACTION: On motion by Savary, and unanimously accepted by Commission the
election of Jack Nelson for Chairperson and Anna Hopkins Vice-Chairperson were
elected for the remainder of 2010.

NOES: None
ABSENT: Hopkins and Nelson
5. AGENDA ITEM #0410-5 SENIOR CENTER REPORT
ACTION: On motion by Commissioner Surridge Commission unanimously accepted
the April 1,2010 Senior Center Report.

ABSENT: Hopkins and Nelson
Gail Lynn, Recreation Area Manager updated the Commission on the ongoing
activities and upcoming events. Jack Risley, Recreation Supervisor, reported that for
the month of March, 104 Congregate meals were served on a daily average based on
31 serving days and a daily average of 32 Home Meals delivered.
ADJOURNMENT:
By proper motion, the Regular Meeting of April 1, 2010 was adjourned at 3:50 p.m.
