entertained by songstress, Carolyn Jaynes and Carlsbad Senior Center's own
Hawaiian class dancers lead by Christinia Lee. Some lucky seniors won prizes
and everyone enjoyed the afternoon.
Another highlight in September was the CVS Flu Shot Clinic. Licensed CVS
Pharmacists administered the 2011 "all-in-one influenza vaccine." Also the 2nd
Fall Prevention Awareness Faire was held and many health-care and safety
professionals participated in this event. Screening stations were setup in the
auditorium.
In October tickets went on sale for the 25th annual KoKo Beach Fundraiser.
KoKo Beach owners Mr. Jeff King and Mr. Martin Kouma have sponsored this
event for 25 years. To celebrate Octoberfest, Jeurgen Rosenfeld will serenade
the lunch crowd in the dining room with his accordion playing. "The ABC's &
Part D of Medicare" workshop will explain important changes to the Medicare
Advantage and Part D plans for 2012.
Spickard said the Police Department does not support the Senior Center being a
drop off location for pharmaceutical drugs and medicine.
