MEETING OF: Senior Commission
DATE OF MEETING: April 23, 2015

CALL TO ORDER: Commissioner Min called the Regular Meeting to order at 3:09 p.m.
ROLL CALL:
Present: Commissioners Min, Nelson, Pearson, and Tweedy
Absent: Chairperson Sachs
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: Commissioner Tweedy led the Pledge of Allegiance
APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
ACTION: Motion by Commissioner Tweedy and duly seconded by Commissioner
Nelson, to approve the minutes ofthe Regular Meeting of February 26,
2015 were approved.
AYES: Commissioners Min, Nelson, and Tweedy
NOES: None
ABSTAIN: Commissioner Pearson
ABSENT: Chairperson Sachs
CONSENT CALENDAR:
1, AB # 0415-1 SUMMARY REPORT (ACTION)
The Commission to accept, approve and file the February 26, 2015 Senior Commission
meeting summary report.
ACTION: Motion by Commissioner Nelson and duly seconded by Commissioner
Tweedy, AB #0415-1 of the consent calendar was approved.
AYES: Commissioners Min, Nelson, and Tweedy
NOES: None
ABSTAIN: Commissioner Pearson
ABSENT: Chairperson Sachs

DEPARTMENT REPORTS:
2. AB # 0415-2 SENIOR CENTER TOURS (ACTION)
Commission to discuss and determine potential visitation to senior centers of neighboring
agencies.

ACTION: Motion by Commissioner Nelson and duly seconded by Commissioner
Pearson, Commission recommended staff investigate all potential centers for
visitations and best practices and have on agenda in the near future.
AYES: Chairperson Sachs, Commissioners Min, Nelson, Pearson, and Tweedy
NOES: None
ABSTAIN: None
ABSENT: None
3- AB # 0415-3 COMMiSSION 2015 GOALS AND OBJECTIVES (INFORMATION)
Commission discussed goals, objectives, and ideas to focus on for the remainder of 2015.
Continued to the next meeting for further discussion.
4. AB # 0415-4 SENIOR CENTER REPORT (INFORMATION)
Kevin Granse, Recreation Area Manager, gave an oral report on the ongoing activities and
upcoming events, Mr. Granse will email the statistics to the commissioners.
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Kevin Granse, Recreation Area Manager, introduced Michele Hardy, Senior Office Specialist, as
the new Minutes Clerk.
He also announced the advisory comments to City Council was part of a memo included in the
approved minutes and City Council has not seen it yet.
FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS:
• Draft a memo to staff in recognizing their great work they do
• 2015/2016 Goal setting - a discussion item
• Staff to investigate senior centers in neighboring agencies to tour/visit and report back to
Commission.

By proper motion, the Senior Commission Meeting of April 23, 2015 was adjourned at
4:07 p.m.
