MEETING OF: Senior Commission

CALL TO ORDER: Chairperson Sachs called the Regular Meeting to order at 3:08 p.m.
ROLL CALL: Senior Office Specialist took roll call:
Present: Commissioners Min, Nelson, Pearson, Sachs, and Tweedy
Absent: None
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: Commissioner Nelson led the Pledge of Allegiance
APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
ACTION: Motion by Commissioner Tweedy and duly seconded by Commissioner
Pearson, to approve the minutes ofthe Regular Meeting of
August 27, 2015 were approved.
AYES: Commissioners Pearson, Sachs, and Tweedy
NOES: None
ABSTAIN: Commissioners Min and Nelson
ABSENT: None
CONSENT CALENDAR:
1. AB # 0915-1 SUMMARY REPORT (ACTION)
The Commission to accept, approve and file the August 27, 2015 Senior Commission
meeting summary report.
ACTION: Motion by Commissioner Pearson and duly seconded by Commissioner
Tweedy, AB #0915-1 of the consent calendar was approved.
AYES: Commissioners Pearson, Sachs, and Tweedy
NOES: None
ABSTAIN: Commissioners Min and Nelson
ABSENT: None
DEPARTMENT REPORTS:
2. AB # 0915-2 COMMISSION 2015 GOALS AND OBJECTIVES (INFORMATION)
Commission discussed goals, objectives, and ideas to focus on for 2015-2016 continued
from last month's meeting. Commissioner Nelson handed out a list of possible goals.
Commissioners plan to formalize goals at next month's meeting.

Jack Risley, Recreation Supervisor for the Senior Center, explained to the Commissioners
that he went to a CPRS conference several years ago and on display was stationary
fitness equipment for seniors. He handed out an example of the senior-friendly equipment
that could be put in our parks.
3. AB # 0915-3 SENIOR CENTER REPORT (INFORMATION)
Kevin Granse, Recreation Area Manager, gave an oral report on the ongoing activities and
upcoming events. He distributed the monthly statistical report to the Commissioners.
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Kevin Granse, Recreation Area Manager, announced that the Parks & Recreation Department
recently received CAPRA accreditation at the annual NRPA Conference.
Mr. Granse also reminded the Commissioners about the Boards and Commission Appreciation
Event on November 5*^.
FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS:
• Investigate the possibility of scheduling a joint meeting with Parks & Recreation
Commission to discuss senior topics appropriate to both commissions.
• Goals for the remainder of 2015 and 2016

By proper motion, the Senior Commission Meeting of September 24, 2015 was adjourned at
4:37 p.m.
