Present: Bob Nelson, Chairman Don Johnson, Manny Puentes, Bill Harkins, City Manager Arnold, City Engineer Cook, Police Chief Laughlin, Bill Allen, Engineering Dept.

1. Approval of Minutes
The minutes for the Ju1.y meeting were approved as submitted.
2. Pedestrian Problem- Tamarack and Pi0 Pic0
Mr. Puentes discussed crossing.guards and cross-walk installation.
His conclusion was not to install cross-walks.
Bill Harkins suggested that the north bound Pio-Pic0 School sign at Tamarack be placed farther north, A motion was passed (Cook- Harkins) to table the problem and watch the intersection for a
six month period.
3. 15 Minute Parkinq Zone on State St. at New York Pizza Parlor
It was discovered that moving van trucks were the uncontrollable problem. Off street parking is provided for customers of New
York Pizza. Bill Allen is to discuss the street parking
problem with Allied Van Lines representatives to reach a solution. . A motion was passed (Cook-Harkins) to table the problem until
'the next meeting.
4. Throuqh Street System
The City Engineer explained the proposed system and the lack of
warrants for 4 way stops. A motion was passed (Nelson-Cook) to adopt the plan for a through street system. Implementation
of the plan is to take place one intersection at a time.
5. Attendance Rule
A motion was passed (Laughlin-Harkins) to the effect that any
two consecutive unexcused absences will result in automatic
dismissal from the Commission on the third absence. The
Commission will decide at the third meeting if absences are to
be excused.
6. Election of Officers
Vice-chairman Harkin was elected Chairman and Bob Nelson was

elected Vice-chairman.
7. Letter of Amreciation to Don Johnson
A motion was passed (Cook-Laughlin) that a letter of apprec-
iation be sent to Don Johnson for his efforts on behalf of
the Commission. Jerry Alexander was recommended by Don Johnson
for membership on the Commission.
8. Set Date for Next Meetinq
The next meeting was set for September 11, 1972, at 3:OO P.M.
