1. Approval of Minutes
The minutes of the August 3, 1976 meeting were approved as
submitted.
2. Request for stop control at Jefferson StreetdChinquapin
Avenue
The Commission felt that the existing yield sign was
functioning well but recommended that the intersection again
be reviewed once sidewalks are installed in the area.
3. Request for yield control at Marina Drive and Park Drive
The Commission recommended that, due to the geometrics of
the above intersection, a yield sign be installed on Marina
Drive.
4. Crosswalk conditions on Carlsbad Boulevard in front of the
Army-Navy Academy
After reviewing the situation in the field, the Commission decided that the existing signing and pavement markings were adequate. However, the Commission did recommend that
the cross-hatch lines within the crosswalk be widened from one foot to two feet each to help improve the motorist's visibility of the crosswalk. The Commission also suggested
that the Army and Navy Academy reinstall the overhead light that was located directly east of the crosswalk near the
athletic field.

5. Request for stop control at Trieste Drive and Porta Place
The Commission recommended against installing any stop
signs to control speeds, Unjustified stop signs usually
result in an increase of accidents and unnecessary delay. The Commission will review these streets once the neighbor- hood is further developed and traffic patterns are established.
6. No parking along Carlsbad Boulevard between Aqua Hedionda Bridge and Cannon Road
The Commission recommended that a no parking zone be established on the east side of Carlsbad Boulevard from
Cannon Road northerly for a distance to provide adequate sight distance. The Commission recommended against es- tablishing any other no parking zones at this time but would
want to again review the above section of Carlsbad Boulevard
once the future street improvements are made.
n both sides of Palomar
The Commission recommended against expanding the existing
no parking limits or restricting the parking to certain days
but did recommend that additional signs be added to fill the
voids between the existing signs.
Respectfully submitted,
