1. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Minutes of the April 7, 1980 meeting were approved as submitted.
2. SPEED STUDY ON JEFFERSON NORTH OF LAS FLORES
The Commission decided to retain existing speed limit of 35 m.p.h. The
Commission did, however, recommend that the east side of the street have
the curb painted red for a distance of 36 feet. The Commission requested
that staff again review the driveway problem of Mrs. Nooncaster.
3. EL CAMINO REAL AT HIGHWAY 78 OVERCROSSING - HAYMAR
The Commission recommended that no action be taken at this time.
4. REPORT ON CARLSBAD BOULEVARD SAFETY AND PARKING
William Stracker, traffic consultant for the City, gave a report to the
Commission for information only.
5. RANCHO SANTA FE ROAD
This item was brought to the Commission's attention for informational pur-
poses only.
6. COMPLAINT ON BICYCLE DETECTION
Chairman Alan Jacobs recommended that William Stracker write an article
on bicycle detection for the newspapers.
7. EL CAMINO REAL AT HOSP WAY - REQUEST FOR RIGHT-TURN ARROW
The request for a right-turn arrow was denied by the Commission. A W-11
sign was recommended for installation by the Commission; however, a field
check showed this sign has already been installed.
8. PASEO DEL NORTE - SPEED STUDY
It was requested by the Commission that staff make another speed study at
a different location. The Commission will also field review.
9. REQUEST FOR LEFT-TURN POCKET ON CARLSBAD BOULEVARD AT CEREZO
Due to the low volume of left turns at this intersection, the Commission
denied the left-turn pocket request.
