A. ROLL CALL: Present: Chairman Jeff Punches, Comnissioners Robert wood, Mary Melideo, William Harkins and Pat O'Day, Absent: None. Staff Members present: Steve Tisdale, Project Manager Roy Kackley, City Engineer B. AppROvAL OF MINLITES: The Minutes of the July 11, 1983, meeting were approved as as amended to delete the semnd paragraph under Goals and Objectives of Comnission on page three. C. STAFFREPORTS: Chairman Punches announced there was no discussion on Item 3 and 4; that the Comnissioners were in agreement with the action of the Comnittee. 1. He felt at that time signalization of that arner The Comnission agreed with the remmndation of the Cornittee to &anqe the speed limit on Alga Road to 35 mph from El Camino Real to Alicante, and between Alicante and El Fuerte to post 40 mph signs, and to enphasize the need to enforce these speed limits. 2. Longview Drive - Request for No Parking Comnissioner O'Day stated he would withdraw from this discussion and abstain from voting. Chairman Punches read the staff report on this item and asked for public aments. Gloria Foote, 3740 Longview Drive, addressed the Comnission, stating her anplaint was if the no parking was all the way down the street, it would create a problem. She felt the street should be posted from the top of the hill past the wrbinq and another 15 or 20 feet. Bob Nazar, 3730 bnqview Drive, addressed the Comnission, stating he was upset over the lack of notice to the people on the street. He felt the Engineering Department should have notified all property owners on the street, so they could testify before the Comnission. Also, Mr. Nazar was concerned about the proposed development on the east side of Loncpiew. The Comnission and City Engineer expressed regret for notices not being sent out properly to the property mrs. The Comnission voted to table this mtter until a pblic meeting is held. the action taken on this matter and have staff get information on the planned anstruction in that area. The Comnission agreed to meet on Monday, September 12, 1983, at 6:OO p.m., to allow the property owners to be notified regarding this item. They would like the Comnittee to review 5. Informational Item: Seminar for Traffic Safety Comnissioners Steve Tisdale, Project Manager, announced there would be a letter and questionnaire sent to the Comnissioners regarding this Seminar, to determine preference as to hours, dates, etc..
