Approval of Minutes
The minutes of the July 28, 1983 meeting were approved as presented.
Longview Drive - Request for No Parking-
Previously available informatin was reviewed, no new information
was presented. Therefore, the Committee reaffirmed its previous
recommendation to post no parking anytime signs for the west
side of Longview Drive for its entire length.
Marron Road & Avenida De Anita - Request for Red Curb
The Committee recommended taking no action until the impact of posting 25 M.P.H. signs on Marron Road from El Camino Real to Avenida De Anita was reviewed by the Engineering staff. This item will come back to the Committee and then to the Commission
in a few months.
Traffic Safety Policies
All three traffic safety policies were handed out to each
Committee member. They were requested to review each policy and
be prepared to recommend a new City traffic safety policy in the
near future.

5, Elm Avenue Median
The Committee reviewed the proposed median, and was concerned
about the location of driveways and the coordination of left turns out of driveways. The Police and Fire Departments had no objections except for the convenience aspect. After hearing
Chris Solomone from Redevelopment & Grants speak about the median, the Committee recommended more coordination with the individual owners in the Poinsettia Plaza.
6. Anchor Way & Hibiscus Circle - Request for a Stop Sign
The Committee recommended that staff check the warrants for a stop signn at this intersection. Jerry Long of the Auto Club thought there was going too be a new law requiring the leg of a
"T" intersection to stop for the through street.
INFORMATIONAL ITEMS
1. Edinburgh & Glascow - Request for Additional Traffic Control
Staff issued a work order to stripe a stop bar and the legend
"Stop" at both existing stop signs.
2.. Alga & El Fuerte - Request for 4-Way Stop
The City Engineer has authorized a temporary 4-way stop at this
location until Alga Road is fully improved.
3. Traffic Safety Commissioners Seminar
A sign-up sheet for the seminar was handed out to each Committee
member.
4. Police Department News Releases
All news releases were handed out to each Committee member.
