Approval of Minutes
The minutes of the November 20, 1964 meeting were approved
as presented.
Park Drive - Bristol Cove to Valenci - Requ st for no
parking anytime signs
The Committee recommends denial of this request. Staff
should continue to monitor the area.
Cadencia between La Costa Avenue and Piragua - Request
for speed limit signs
The Committee recommends denial of this request. Staff
will reevaluate the request when Cadencia becomes a
continuous residential street through the area.
Northbound Carlsbad BoulGvard off-ramp to eastbound
Palomar Airport Road - Request for exit speed limit
sign or curve ahead arrows
Since there is no exit'speed limit sign for this ramp,
€he Committee recommends installing such a sign as well
as needed delineator panels and Chevron signs.
Carlsbad Boulevard between Palomar Airport Roqd and south
city limits - Request for painted directional arrows
The Committee recommends staff should issue a work order
to post one way signs, do not enter signs, and paint
directional arrows at the appropriate locations.

C. El Camino Real and Plaza / Marron Road / Hospital Way -
Request for turning arrow signs
To clarify the turninq movements allowed for each
direction'at all three intersections, the Committee
recommends installing the appropriate overhead turn
signs on the mast arms.
d. El Camino Real and Plaza / Marron Road - Request for
"keep c 1 ea r" s i g n s
The Committee decided to hold off on any action on this
item until the new interconnect system with Caltrans is
implemented.
e. El Camino Real between Hospital Way and Highway 78 -
Request for a 35 mph speed zone and speed reduction
sign for northbound traffic at Hospital Way.
The Committee recommends staff should make sure the 35 mph zone is consistent with the speed limit on
El Camino Real in Oceanside. The Committee also recommends
installing reduced speed ahead signs.
f. Rancho Santa Fe Road between Questhaven Road to Olivenhain
Road - Request to reduce the speed limit from 55 mph to 45 mph
The Committee recommends installing the 45 mph zone until
the Improvements are in. Also, the Committee recommends
installing two 4' x 8' warning signs at each city limit
boundary 1 ine.
9 Rancho Santa Fe Road between La Costa Avenue and Cadencia
Street - Request for additional road width in this area
and a Teft turn pocket for northbound traffic at Cadencia
Street.
Staff will check on the status of the development of
the adjacent property which would widen Rancho Santa Fe
Road. Staff is to report back to the Committee.
h. Palomar Airport Road in the vicinity of Carlsbad Raceway -
Request for a reduced speed limit zone
The Committee recommends staff do a s~eed study in this
area and check with the City Attorney'about the possibility
of the owners of the fruit stands installing improvements
at their stands.
i. La Costa Avenue .3 miles east of El Camino Real - Request
for guard rail
The Committee recommends staff check the warrants for
the installation of a guard rail and the length of
guard rail needed and report back to the Committee.

J. Corte Del Nogal and Corte Del Abetto - Request for a
4-way stop
Warrants for a 4-way stop will be checked as recommended
by the Committee and the results will be brought back
to the Committee.
k. Camino Vida Roble between El Camino Real and Palomar
Airport Road - Request for a reduced speed limit zone
The Committee recommends staff reevaluate the existino - speed limit and sight distance, and report back to the
Committee with the results.
1. La Portalada and Milano - Request to change the existing
yield signs to stop signs
Because of the poor sight distance, the Committee
recommends changing the existing yield signs to stop
signs on the east and west legs of this intersection.
