Engineering Conference Room MINUTES MEMBERS PRESENT: Kent Sears (Newly appointed Chairman), Roger Greer, Vince Jimno, Jim West for Jim Thompson MEMBERS ABSENT: Jerry Long OTHERS PRESENT: Sgt. Mike Shipley, Steve Tisdale 1. APPROVAL OF MINUTES The Minutes of the May 20, 1985 meeting were approved as presented. 2. WESTHAVEN AND SKYLINE/PARK - REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL TRAFFIC 'CONTROL The Committee recommended not to change the striping at this location and install a yield sign and limit line on Skyline at Westhaven, also stripe 100' of solid yellow centerline on Skyline at Westhaven. 3. CARL5,BAD BOULEVARD AND CANNON ROAD - REQUEST FOR A TRAFFIC SIGNAL Because the intersection does not meet the accident warrant or the minimum vehicle volume warrant, the Committee recommends denying this request for a signal at this time. Staff is going to make a signal priority list for the City. Staff will re-evaluate the intersection at that time. 4. ALGA ROAD AND CAZADERO DRIVE - REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL RIGHT- OF-WAY CONTROL The Committee recommended the request for more restrictive right-of-way control be denied, that the landscaping adjacent to Alga Road west of Cazadero Drive be cut back and that the Police Department continue to enforce the posted 40 mph speed limit. The Engineering Department will continue to monitor the intersection to determine if more extensive improvements are needed in the future. LA COSTA AVENUE AND PIRAEUS - REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL TRAFFIC CONTROL It is the Committee's recommendation to deny this request. Staff should continue to monitor this location. LA COSTA AVENUE AND CALLE MADERD - REQUEST FOR A THREE-WAY STOP - Because the warrants for a three-way stop are not met, the Committee recommended denial of this request and that the Police Department continue to enforce the posted speed limit. PI0 PIC0 DRIVE AND FOREST AVENUE - REPLACE YIELD SIGN WITH A STOP SIGN The Committee recommends denying this request but recommends the Parks and Recreation Department should remove a tree for better sight distance and also request a property owner to trim some branches.
