MONDAY, MARCH 30, 1987

MEMBERS PRESENT:

Bob Johnson (Chairman), Mike Shipley (Carlsbad
Police Department), Jim Thompson (Fire Chief),
Mark Rifkin (Chamber of Commerce
Transportation Committee), and Jerry Long
(Auto Club)
Vince Jimno (Chief of Police), Chuck
Mitchell (Utilities/Maintenance
representative), and Lloyd Hubbs (City
Engineer)
Martin Lauber and Mike Shirey (Engineering
Department).
Meeting was called to order at 3:16 P.M.
1. Approval of Minutes
The minutes of the February 23, 1987 Traffic Safety
Coordinating Committee were approved as presented.
2. Rancho Santa Fe Road - Traffic Signal at Cadencia Street
Intersection
To recommend to the Traffic Safety Commission that the
request for a traffic signal at the Rancho Santa Fe Road/
Cadencia Street intersection be denied.
Mike Shipley motioned. Jerry Long seconded. Motion passed
unanimously.

3. Yarrow Drive - Request for Speed Limit Posting
To recommend to the Traffic Safety Commission that a 40 mile
per hour speed limit be established and posted on Yarrow
Drive from Camino Vida Roble to Palomar Airport Road.
To also recommend to the Traffic Safety Commission that Dyna
Graphic Corporation install additional signing and/or
striping to further delineate that the northerly driveway
located at 6211 Yarrow Drive is an entrance driveway only.
To also recommend to the Traffic Safety Commission that the
Dyna Graphic Corporation inform their employees and vendors
that the northerly driveway located at 6211 Yarrow Drive is
an entrance driveway only.
Jim Thompson motioned. Mike Shipley seconded. Motion
passed unanimously.
4. Items From Committee Members
Mike Shipley stated that the new parking enforcement
officer, Diane Rodrigues, will start issuing parking
citations on Tuesday, March 31, 1987.
Mike also stated that citations for over weight trucks
recently accumulated $4,100 in one (1) week.
5. Meeting adjourned at 3:45 P.M.
