Priday, Administrative Ass't.--- City of Carlsbad .................................................................. Mr. Spano opened the meeting and brought up the question of enlarging the District to include property known as 2730 State Street. This is necessitated because of change by S.D.G. & E. Co. It was agreed that the District should be revised accordingly and another hearing held. The location of proposed underground electric, proposed storm drain and existing underground utilities was dfscussed. It was brought up that the separation between storm drain and underground electric was not sufficient to accommodate the underground vaults. The separation would have to be increased to eight feet. The matter of trenching and restoration of surfacing was brought up. At this time it was suggested that consideration be given to a joint trench or joint contract for all proposed underground (storm drain) electric and telephone. It was agreed that Jim DeWeiss and Joe Spano would explore this possibility further. Mr. DeWeiss mentioned that the service point for the street lights would have to be relocated to Grand Avenue and Madison Avenue. The cost of this electrical work must be borne by the City. He also pointed out that once the underground was accom- plished the Christmas light decorations could not be accommodated. The question of the Civil Defense siren was brought up and the City agreed to look into the possibility of relocating it. Considerable discussion ensued concerning the coordination of design, plans and specifications and bidding schedules.
