Re: Notification of Cases of COVID-19 Among JC Management's Golf Course Employees
Assigned to The Crossings at Carlsbad Municipal Golf Course
This memorandum provides information related to cases of COVID-19 among JC Management's
golf course employees assigned to The Crossings at Carlsbad Municipal Golf Course (Golf
Course).
Background
On Sept. 5, 2017, a Request for Qualifications and Proposals (RFQP) was advertised for
Management and Operations of the Golf Course. The RFQP detailed that the chosen firm
would be responsible for the management of the entire operations of the Golf Course, including
administration, budgeting, marketing, course maintenance, tournaments, food and beverage,
volunteer program and special events. On Jan. 16, 2018, the Carlsbad Public Financing
Authority authorized the execution of a five-year agreement for Golf Course Management and
Operations to JC Management. Since March 1, 2018, JC Management has effectively fulfilled
the above described responsibilities.
Discussion
On Jan. 8, 2021, the city was informed in writing that three of JC Management's Golf Course
employees assigned to the Golf Course received positive test results for the COVID-19 virus.
Sadly, one of these three employees has passed away. JC Management has advised the city
that all applicable COVID-19 site decontamination and employee notification requirements
were followed after identification of each case.
