Re: Duplex located 2405 Sacada Circle Carlsbad, CA 92009
Dear Bob;
As requested, I called Tim Phillips and left a message. He did
not return my call. The reasonably small distance between the
bottom of the double top plate and the top of the shear wall is
satisfactory as long as the top of the shear wall is blocked and
the shear wall is edge nailed or boundary nailed to the blocking.
Please refer to the attached sketch.
Please call this office if we may be of further service to you.
Very-truly yours,
James C. Traves

Expansion Tests (UBC Standard 29.2)
Expansion tests are performed on air dried samples or on samples
at optimum moisture content.
- In the first case, one inch high samples confined in-the brasS rings are permitted to air dry at 1059 for at least 48 hours prior to placing into the expansion apparatus. The sample to be tested at optimum moisture is remolded
to 90 percent of maximum dry density at optimum moisture content
and placed directly on the expansion apparatus. A unit load of 150
pounds or 500 pounds per square foot is then applied to the upper
porous stone in contact with the top of each sample. Water is per-
mitted to contact both the top and bottom of each sample through porous stones. Continuous observations are made until upward
movement is less than 1/10000 inch per hour.

Subject: Compaction Evaluation
Dear Mr. Vignato:
In accordance with your authorization on November 4, 1988
our Finn has performed compaction tests at
2405 Sacada Circle - Carlsbad
After the natural ground had been prepared, it was brought
to the proper moisture content and compacted to at least
90% of maximum density in accordance with A.S.T.M. D1557-70
method which uses 25 blows of a 10 pound rammer falling 18
inches on each of 5 layers in a 4 inch diameter 1/3D cubic
foot cylindrical mold.
The fill material was non-expansive soils with a liquid
limit less than 30%, a plasticity index of less than 15%,
and a swell less than 3% when compacted to at least 90% of
maximum dxy density and subjected to. a normal load of 1 psi.
It is our opinion the soil tested appears to be representative
of the total site area. However, it must be clearly, under-
stood the compaction values stated herein are valid only for
the sample tested.
The result of pur compaction evaluation is herewith enclosed.
Hoping that Ois information will satisfy your requirements,

The application must be signed by. the owner (or his authorized representative) of
the property to be served. The total charges must be paid to the District at the
time the application is submitted.
If a service lateral is required, it will be installed by the Leucadia County Water
District. The service lateral is that part of the sewer system that extends from
the main collection line in the Street (or easement) to the point in the street(at
or near the applicant's property line) where the service lateral is connected to
the applicant's building sewer. The applicant is responsible for the construction,
at the applicant's expense, of the sewer pipeline (building sewer) from the appli-
cant's plumbing to the point in the street (or easement) where a connection is made
to the service lateral.
The connection of the applicant's building sewer to the service lateral shall be
made by the applicant at his expense. The connection must be made in conformity
with the District's specifications, rules and regulations; and IT MUST BE INSPECTED
AND APPROVED BY THE DISTRICT BEFORE THE SEWER SYSTEM MAY BE USED BY THE APPLICANT.
THE APPLICANT, OR HIS AUTHORIZED REPRESENTATIVE, MUST NOTIFY THE DISTRICT AT THE
TIME INSPECTION IS DESIRED. ANY CONNECTION MADE TO THE SERVICE LATERAL OR COLLEC-
TION LINE WITHOUT PRIOR APPROVAL AND INSPECTION BY THE DISTRICT WILL BE CONSIDERED
INVALID AND WILL NOT BE ACKNOWLEDGED.
The prorated sewer service fee is based upon the date the District estimates that
service will begin and covers the balance of the fiscal year. There will be no
additional fee or refund if service actually commences on a different date. For
succeeding fiscal years, the sewer service fee will be collected on the tax roll
in the same manner as property taxes.
The undersigned hereby agrees that the above information given is correct and agrees
to the conditions as stated.
