regulating energy conservation, noise attenuation and disabled access. This plan review is

ELECTRICAL CORRECTIONS

1. The licensed designer must sign the-approved set of the plans.
ELECTRICAL (1999 NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE)
2. Include, on the single line diagram, the PV grounding electrode system: Conductor size,
connection termination locations, and routing. NEC 690-47
3. The 30 ampere 240 volt AC overcurrent device appears oversized. Please justify.
Additionally, note on the single line diagram that this device will be positively attached to
the panelboard, the sole use of a stab-in connection will not be permitted. NEC 384-16(9)
4. Provide the module manufacturers DC maximum overcurrent protection device sizing,
note on the plans, and demonstrate how this protection is provided on the single line
diagram.
5. The solar panel design specifies 3,900 watts maximum power, the inverter installation
specifications specify a maximum input of 3,000 watts of PV power. Please address.
6. The 600 volt disconnects: Why 4 poles? It doesn't appear to match the 3 parallel panel
designs.
7. Where did the 3,750 inverter output wattage come from? Isn't the Sunny Boy listed as
2,500 watts? Note: See 690-8(a)3. For ampacity and OC device sizing the 2,500 watts
X 125% would equal 3,125 watts (13.2 amperes_

Submit three sets of plans for commercial/industrial projects (two sets of plans for
residential projects). For expeditious processing, corrected sets can be submitted in one of
two ways:
1. Deliver all corrected sets of plans and calculations/reports directly to the City of
Carlsbad Building Department, 1635 Faraday Ave., Carlsbad, CA 92008, (760) 602-2700.
The City will route the plans to EsGil Corporation and the Carlsbad Planning, Engineering
and Fire Departments.
2. Bring one corrected set of plans and calculations/reports to EsGil Corporation, 9320
Chesapeake Drive, Suite 208, San Diego, CA 92123, (858) 560-1468. Deliver all
remaining sets of plans and calculations/reports directly to the City of Carlsbad Building
Department for routing to their Planning, Engineering and Fire Departments.
NOTE: Plans that are submitted directly to EsGil Corporation only will not be reviewed by
the City Planning, Engineering and Fire Departments until review by EsGil Corporation is
complete.
2. Provide a complete list of all proposed plan changes, including:
a) A brief description of each proposed plan change.
b) The sheet or sheets of plans that shall be modified for each proposed plan change.
c) The identification symbol and number used to identify the proposed plan change on
the plans.
3. Please note that the Masonry Fireplace Standards Drawing and Specifications provided
