Clearly show types of hazardous material is being stored or used. Provide a list of the
proposed hazardous materials as per the types in UBC, Tables 3-1), and 3-E.
Provide the material safety data sheets (MSDS).

. PLUMBING (1994 UNIFORM PLUMBING CODE)
Provide complete water line sizing calculations, including the water pressure,
pressure losses, water demands, and developed pipe lengths. UPC Section
610.0
Provide complete gas line plans and calculations, for the, relocated gas fired
equipment, showing pipe lengths and gas demands. UPC Section 1217.0
Provide. complete drain, waste and vent plans.
Show the required accessible flow controls for the fixtures flowing into the
grease trap. UPC, Section 1011.3
The Prep Sink and kitchen floor drains must drain into a grease trap or grease
interceptor.
Food waste disposal unit and dishwasher shall not be connected to or
discharged into any grease trap. UPC, Section 1013.0
Show 1/4 inch per 12 inch slope on drain and waste lines. UPC Section 708.0
New water closets and associated flushometer valves, if any, shall use no more
than 1.6 gallons per flush and shall meet performance standards established by
the American National Standards Institute Standard A112.19.2, H & S Code,
Section 17921.3(b). (In Kelley Graphics.)
MECHANICAL (1994 UNIFORM MECHANICAL CODE)
Show the size, location and type of all heating and cooling appliances or
systems.
Provide mechanical ventilation in all rooms capable of supplying outside air at a
minimum rate of 15 cubic feet'per minute per occupant. UBC, Section 1202.2.1
Provide mechanical plans showing existing and proposed HVAC equipment,
ducts and access to equipment
Detail required roof access ladder to roof mounted HVAC equipment. UMC,
Section 321.8
In Groups B, F, M, and S Occupancies, or portions thereof, where Class I, II, or
Ill-A liquids: are used (in any amount), mechanical exhaust shall be provided
sufficient to produce six air changes per hour. Such mechanical exhaust shall be
taken from a point at or near the floor. UBC, Section 1202.2.2. (In Kelley
Graphics.)
23. Provide complete kitchen hood plans, details, and calculations to show
compliance with UMC, Chapter 5, Part 11 as per the following:
The fire-rated grease duct enclosures must be sealed around the duct at
the point of penetration of the ceiling. UMC, Section 507.6
Show the CFM ratings of the proposed exhaust fans and make-up air
units.
Show the required 18 inches, hood clearances from combustibles, as per
UMC, Section 507.10.
Show required cleanouts for grease duct on hood. UMC, Section 507.5
Each room provided with a kitchen exhaust system shall have air supplied
to the room equal to the amount of air to be exhausted. The exhaust and
make-up air systems shall be connected by an electrical interlocking
switch. UMC, Section 402.4
A complete kitchen hood system plan review will be done when complete
hood system plans, details, and calculations are provided.
24. Exhaust ducts shall terminate outside the building as per UMC, Section 504.1,
for the new restroom.
ENERGY CONSERVATION
25. Provide plans, calculations and worksheets to show compliance with current
energy standards for the added new conditioned floor area in Kelley Graphics, at
pop-outs at old doors.
26. Provide complete energy designs for the proposed changes in envelope, and
lighting systems.. Provide the completed ENV-1, ENV-2, ENV-3, LTG-1, and
LTG-2 forms showing energy compliance.
27. On the plans clearly show the wall and roof insulation locations, thickness, and
R-values, as per the energy design.-
28. Provide the complete existing and new lighting plans.
29. Show the daylit areas and required daylit area lighting controls for new or
relocated lighting in daylit areas. Title 24, Part 6, Section 131(c).
30. Show bi-level lighting controls as per Title 24, Part 6,' Section 131(b).
31. Detail required exterior lighting controls. "Exterior lighting controlled from a
lighting panel within the building shall be controlled by a directional photocell or
astronomical time switch that automatically turns off exterior lighting when
daylight is available."
The corrected, completed and signed ENV-1, LTG-1, and MECH-1 forms must
be imprinted on the plans.
Complete energy plan check will be done when complete corrected energy
designs are provided.
Note: If you have any questions regarding this Plumbing, Mechanical and

The plans for your food facility remodel have been reviewed and approved. Please be advised that
it is your responsibility to call for these three field inspections
Preliminary Inspection - floor sinks and drains installed
Mid Inspection - (800/a completion)
Final Inspection - all equipment installed and operating.
This can be done by calling the Plan Check Unit in North County at (760) 471-0730 and requesting
the necessaly inspections. We do require three to five working days prior notice for each scheduled
inspeätion. Also, prior to the final inspection of your rèmódel, if you are anew owner you are
required to obtain a valid health permit. This should be done before final approval to operate is
granted. You may apply at any of our offices located in San Diego, San Marcos and El Cajon.
