Library Services During COVID-19
Mail Ballot Drop Off (MBDO)
All three library locations continue to serve as
convenient and trusted MBDO sites:
•Dove location second busiest in county
•Cole location sixth busiest
•Library Learning Center location receiving
ballots from many first time voters
•Library staff across department working
to support this service
Computer and Accounts Access
•Started September 29
•Alternating days of service between
locations (Monday through Thursday)
•Managing occupancy and
following cleaning protocols
•Tracking use statistics and adjusting
services to ensure patron needs are
met

Curbside Service Continues
•Nearly 100,000 items circulated!
•More returns than checkouts
•Available Monday through Saturday
•Beginning Nov. 4, adjusting hours to
10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in response to end
of Daylight Savings Time

•Eight monthly Book Clubs
•Attendance exceeding 2019 numbers
•One new Book Club added last quarter:
–Book Warriors for teens

Literacy Services Update
•After buildings closed, initially focused on assuring tutors and learners were safe and had access to resources
•Efforts to actively provide literacy services began in July with a goal of creating a robust virtual program organized around learners’ priority goals

–Virtual tutoring with their tutor
–Virtual book club
–News Crew reading group
–Build Your Home Library initiative
