Library & Cultural Arts
• Library patrons can pay their overdue or lost material fines online starting Dec. 1.
Patrons can pay via PayPal or credit card. Previously, patrons had to visit a library in
person to pay their fines or mail in a check. This new feature provides library patrons
with a convenient and contactless way to keep their accounts current.
• Update on curbside service:
o As the days get shorter and winter storm season approaches, all three Carlsbad
library locations are adjusting their contactless curbside service by moving staff
indoors. Beginning Tuesday, Dec. 1, patrons pull into a designated curbside
parking space and call a number provided at curbside signage. Staff inside the
building will answer the call, confirm patron information, retrieve the materials
requested and bring them out to the vehicle. Service days and times, between 10
a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday, have not changed, and book return
bins will continue to be available outside 24/7.
