This report recommends approving new and revised job classifications and amending the affected salary schedules for select Management and Carlsbad City Employees' Association (CCEA) personnel. All job classifications will describe duties which employees occupying the job classification may be required to perform. Pursuant to Section 3.3 of the City of Carlsbad's Personnel Rules and Regulations, new and revised job classifications and associated salary schedules must be approved by resolution of the City Council at a public meeting. Prior to submission of the classification additions and revisions to the City Council for consideration, the affected employee organizations must be provided with written notice of the changes being proposed and an opportunity to meet and confer as to those matters that are within the scope of representation. To meet the changing needs of departments, job classification studies were performed for several positions.
