1. Please provide structural calculations to demonstrate the existing roof can withstand the
added loads. Structural review will commence after structural documents are submitted.
2. On E-1.1 Identify existing roof access area as well as all rooftop equipment such as
skylights and vent pipes.
3. Please revise roof layout and provide the required 4' axis pathways in both direction per
CBC 3111.4.3.2
4. Pis. detail each elevation of stacked equipment. Also, describe the manufacturer
clearances required for the inverters for proximity to each other and other equipment.
Furthermore justify the ventilation requirements are met.
5. Pis. detail the existing electrical room further to show how clearance is met in front of the
800 amp existing service with the stacked inverters in front of it. The egress door
swinging in does not help. CEC 110.26
6. The following design loads shall be clearly indicated on the construction documents.
Wind load. The following information should be provided:
*Basic Wind speed (3-second gust), 110 mph
*Wind exposure shall be determined by the engineer.
7. Pis. provide catalogue cuts ofthe racking systems.
8. Provide the required separate ground electrode for the "photovoltaic rack assembly" per
690.47 (D) or connect to the building electrode system. If the electrode conductor is
routed through electrical equipment (disconnects, panels, meter enclosures, etc) then
provide a detail on the plans describing compliance with CEC 250.64(C). (Conductor
splices only allowed with compression connectors or exothermic welding.) Size the
ground electrode conductor per 250.166, not smaller than #8. Feeder 1.4 shows #10
wire.
*Note: The rack electrode system is described in the 2010 CEC 690.47(D) and the
upcoming 2016 CEC 690.47(D). It was mistakenly deleted from the 2013 CEC.
