RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution No. 2002-327 accepting the construction of El Fuerte 30” water
transmission main (Alga Road to Chorlito Street), Project No. 38161, as complete, and
directing the City Clerk to record a Notice of Completion and release bonds in
accordance with State Law and City Ordinances.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
On June 12, 2001, Pullman Engineering, Inc. was awarded a contract in the amount of
$524,488 for the construction of El Fuerte 30” water transmission main (Alga Road to
Chorlito Street), Project No. 38161.
Pullman Engineering, Inc. completed the transmission main work on July 12, 2002. City
staff has inspected the work and found it to be satisfactory. Staff recommends formal
acceptance of the water transmission main improvements by the City Council.

RESOLUTION NO. 2002-327
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING THE CONSTRUCTION
OF EL FUERTE 30 WATER TRANSMISSION MAIN (ALGA
ROAD TO CHORLITO STREET). PROJECT NO. 38161.
WHEREAS, the construction of El Fuerte 30" water transmission main (Alga Road to
Chorlito Street) was completed to the City's satisfaction by Pullman Engineering, Inc. on July
12,2002; and
WHEREAS, the formal project Notice of Completion has been prepared; and
WHEREAS, all project costs have been established to date.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the construction of El Fuerte 30" water transmission main (Alga Road to
Chorlito Street), specifically identified as Project No. 38161, is deemed complete and is
hereby accepted.
3. The City Clerk of the City of Carlsbad is hereby authorized and directed to
execute and record the Notice of Completion for Project No. 38161.
4. That the City Clerk is directed to release all bonds on Project No. 38161 in
accordance with State Law and City Ordinances.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Carlsbad City
Council held On the -day of NOVEMBER , 2002 by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Council Members Lewis, Kulchin, Finnila, Nygaard, Hall
