McCreary, Board member, ALTAMIRA MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATION #I1 TREE AND VIEW COMMITTEE April 1,2003 City of Carlsbad Raymond R. Patchett City Manager 1200 Carlsbad Village Drive Carlsbad, California 92008 Dear Raymond Patchett: The Board of Directors of HOA, Altamira 11, has requested that I as chairman of the Trees and Views standing committee, seek a hearing with the Carlsbad City Council at its April 29, 2003, meeting for the purpose of considering the establishment of a Tree and View city ordinance. We are looking toward May 27, 2003 for a special hearing on the issue. You may recall that several persons came before the City Council to express their concerns regarding their frzlstrations with the absence of a legal remedy to tree and view obstructions. Since that time in June and July, 2000, the Community of Del Mar has processed and unanimously passed an ordinance on Trees and Views and our HOA committee supported their efforts to examining the variety of issues and problems prior to its conclusion. It is time that the city of Carlsbad carehlly considers these problems with an open mind. Please contact our committee secretary, at: Marcia Ross 90 1 -E Caminto Madrigal Carlsbad, CA 92009 760/93 1 - 10 12 phone/fax Email: rosscom@webtv.net Very truly yours, .H#'* Guy Weddington Mc re Altamira Management Association #I1 Board Member and Tree and View Committee, Chairman
