2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD,
CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING OUT-OF-STATE TRAVEL FOR ONE
POLICE SERGEANT AND ONE FIRE EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS
4 COORDINATOR TO ATTEND THE GETTYSBURG STAFF RIDE WILD
LAND FIRE & INCIDENT MANAGEMENT TRAINING IN
5 GETTYSBURG, PA

7 WHEREAS, the City Council concurs that it is in the public interest to authorize
out-of-state travel for one police sergeant and one fire emergency preparedness coordinator to
attend the Gettysburg Staff Ride wild land fire & incident management training in Gettysburg,
PA in to order gain historical insights to strategic leadership concepts and philosophies and link
a historical event, systematic study, and actual terrain to produce critical incident analysis in
three dimensions; and
12 WHEREAS, both attendees are members of the San Diego Urban Area All Hazards

jy funding from the Urban Area Security Initiative (UASI) to pay for the training and related
18 travel for both attendees
19 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carisbad,

24 one police sergeant and one fire emergency preparedness coordinator to participate
25 in the Gettysburg Staff Ride wild land fire & incident management training in
26 Gettysburg, PA on May 4-8, 2015.

Incident Management Team, who are specially trained to provide immediate assistance to
agencies within the San Diego region during major emergency events; and
WHEREAS, the San Diego Urban Area All Hazards Incident Management Team has
