Library Services During COVID-19
California Regional Stay at Home Order
and Library Services
•State’s revised restrictions do not require our libraries to adjust services.
•Libraries fall under the retail sector which allows for less than 20% occupancy for indoor services.
•No adjustments at this moment.
•Neighboring libraries are operating with various adjustments; each jurisdiction is choosing how to operate best for its community.
•Balancing on site and telecommuting staff
Curbside Service: Updates
•“Call in Curbside” launched Dec. 1
•Available Mon. –Sat., 10am to 5pm
•Parking spots assigned phone numbers
•Check outs completed over the phone
•Focused on patron and staff safety
•Ukuleles and seeds now also being distributed
In Person Service Continues
•124 unique computer users through November
•782 cards converted from temporary to permanent
•Staff monitoring occupancy
•Staff disinfecting between users
Supporting patrons at home
•Offered 56 remote programs in October and
November
•Extension of due dates to March 31, 2021
•Accepting online payments of fines and fees
•Increasing Zoom licenses for additional
programming
