Construction Summary This report is limited to the easterly side of Madison Street from approximately Sta 23+74 to 24+74.Our testing and observations were provided on an on-call basis. Density tests were taken on trench soil backfills, subgrade, base and asphalt.Test results are enclosed as Table 1. The laboratory maximum dry density and optimum moisture content for soil types tested were determined in general accordance with test method ASTM D1557.Given the fairly small quantities of base used and given that the plant provided values seemed reasonable and in keeping with our experience for other sites those were used in our field testing. The asphalt wet density was also based on the plant data. Field density and laboratory test results indicate that the fill material, base and asphalt were compacted to a minimum of 95 percent relative compaction at the locations tested. Recommendations Any additional grading or construction on the site should be done in accordance with the currently applicable codes and standards.Recommendations should be sought from the Geotechnical Engineer prior to additional grading. LIMITATIONS Fills under the purview of this report were selective tested by GeoTek, Inc. and are found to be in reasonable compliance with applicable provisions of the current California Building Code (CBC).Our field density testing and observation services were provided post grading and limited to areas adjacent to the structure.Testing may not represent the entire area.
