Ladies & Gentlemen:
This report present the results of fill compaction tests performed on the subgrade soils and
aggregate base for the street improvements, including the new access driveway, sidewalk and the
curb and gutter for the five proposed Tamarack Beach Homes at the subject site. Our previous
reports are listed on the attached References.
Site grading was conducted between March 31 and April 3, 2020 under the observation and
testing of a representative of East County Soil Consultation & Engineering Inc. The subgrade
soils, consisting of on-site silty sand within the areas of the improvements, were scarified to a
depth of 12 inches and compacted to a minimum of 95 percent relative compaction. Imported
aggregate base was then placed on top of the sub grade soils, where required, and compacted to a
minimum of95 percent relative compaction. Compaction was achieved with a hand wacker.
In-place field density tests were performed on the compacted soils and aggregate base materials in
accordance with ASTM D1556 (Sand Cone Method). The results of the field density tests and fill
compaction values are presented on Table T-1 , Fill Compaction Test Results. The results of a
laboratory maximum density test are presented on Table L-1 , Maxium Density Test Results. The
approximate fill compaction test locations are shown on Plate No. 1.

This report presents the results of field density tests performed on the utility trench backfill,
including the subgrade and aggregate base in the Tamarack Avenue right-of-way at the subject
site.
In accordance with your request, in-place field density tests were performed in accordance with
ASTM D1556 (Sand Cone Method). Grading was conducted between March 13 and May 7,
2019 under the observation and testing of a representative of East County Soil Consultation and
Engineering, Inc.
The results of the field density tests are presented on Page T-1 under "Table of Test Results".
The laboratory determinations of the maximum dry densities and optimum moisture contents of
the different materials are set forth on Page L-1 under "Laboratory Test Results". The
approximate test locations are shown on Plates No. 1 through No. 4.
On-site and imported materials consisting of silty sand and aggregate base repectively were
compacted to the minimum required of 90 and 95 percent relative compaction while maintaining
a moisture content around optimum. Compaction was achieved with the use of a hand whacker,
a sheepsfoot roller and a steel-wheel roller.

Project No. 17-1106F6
This is to present the results of field density tests performed on the building pads for the five
proposed single-family residences at the subject site.
In accordance with your request, in-place field density tests were performed in accordance with
ASTM D1556 (Sand Cone Method). Grading was conducted between February 27 and March 15,
2019 under the observation and testing of a representitive of East County Soil Consultation &
Engineering Inc.
The results of the field density tests are presented on Page T-1 under "Table of Test Results". The
laboratory determinations of the maximum dry densities and optimum moisture contents of the
fill soils are set forth on Page L-1 under "Laboratory Test Results". The approximate test
locations are shown on Plate No. 1.
Following clearing and grubbing, i.e. the removal of vegetation and concrete waste from the
demolition of the existing structure, subgrade soils were overexcavated to a minimum depth of 3
feet below finished pad grade into the dense terrace deposits. Prior to the placement of new fill,
the bottom of the excavation was scarified to a depth of approximately 6 inches, moisture-
conditioned and compacted.
On-site and imported fill soils cons1stmg of silty sand were placed in thin lifts, moisture-
conditioned generally over optimum and compacted to a minimum of 90 percent relative
compaction. Compaction was achieved with the use of a Caterpillar D6H tractor.

LABORATORY TEST RESULTS
RESULTS OF MAXIMUM DENSITY AND OPTIMUM MOISTURE
The maximum dry densities and optimum moisture contents of the fill materials as determined by ASTM
Dl557, Procedures A and B which use 25 blows of a 10-pound slide hammer falling from a height of 18
inches on each of 5 equal layers in a 4-inch diameter 1/30 cubic foot compaction cylinder and Procedure
C which uses 56 blows of a 10-pound slide hammer falling from a height of 18 inches on each of 5 equal
layers in a 6-inch diameter 1/13.3 cubic foot compaction cylinder are presented as follows:
