Exhibits None. 12 of 12Page 12 of 12 LIBRARY BOARD OF TRUSTEES Suzanne Smithson March 24, 2021 Library Services during COVID-19 Current Status •State guidance recent change: red tier as of March 17 •Library part of retail sector: 50% occupancy allowed •Monday –Saturday, 10 a.m. –5 p.m. −Curbside service −Staff support via phone, email, text, chat −WiFi garden at Dove •Limited interior services: computers, accounts, printing and copying Current Status (online)•Virtual programs −Regular story times, book clubs, genealogy programs, tween programs, etc. −Special events: music performances, Carlsbad Reads Together, etc. •Research resources available 24/7 •Catalog available 24/7 Current Status (adjustments)•Library materials due dates −Due dates extended several times in past year −March 31 due date will not be extended further −Fines will accrue after this time −Patrons with items checked out have been notified •Quarantine time of library materials reduced Next Steps •Plan submitted for progressively increasing services •Based on State, County, City guidance •Focus on patron and staff safety −Ability to maintain clean and sanitized sites Next Steps (details) •Cannon Gallery will re-open on April 6 with next exhibit, Material Pulses •Allow patron browsing −Start with limited schedule •Gradually increase hours and services •Curbside services will continue Questions?
