Library Services during COVID-19
Current Status
•State guidance recent change: orange tier as of April 7
•Library part of retail sector: 50% occupancy allowed
•Monday –Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
−Curbside service
−Staff support via phone, email, text, chat
−WiFi garden at Dove
•Limited interior services: computers, accounts, printing and copying
Current Status (online)•Virtual programs
−Regular story times, book clubs, genealogy programs, tween programs, etc.
−Special events: music performances, Carlsbad Reads Together, etc.
•Online research and learning resources available 24/7
•Catalog available 24/7

−March 31 due date not extended further
−6 week checkout period instead of traditional 3 week checkout
−Fines began accruing after April 14 (two-week grace period)
−Lost item billing resumed today, April 28 (four weeks after due date)
•Quarantine time of library materials reduced to 4 days
