SUBJECT: Report of I n-Place Density Tests, Site Improvements,
Palomar Oaks II Business Park, Palomar Airport Road,
Carlsbad, California.
Gentlemen:
In accordance with your request, this report has been prepared
to present the results of the in-place density tests performed
in the sewer, water, storm drain, joint utility trench, and
retaining wall backfills, as well as in the prepared subgrade
and base materials at the subject site. These tests were
performed by Southern California Soil & Testing, Inc. between
September 14, 1988 and January 17, 1989.
Field density tests were taken by Southern California Soi l &
Testing, Inc. at various locations in the compacted backfills
and prepared subgrade and base materials. Test locations were
chosen by our field representative. The results and locations
of the field tests are shown on the attached plates.
Maximum dry density determinations were performed on
r epresentative samples of the soils used according to A.S.T.M.
Test 1557-78, Methods A and C.

field d ens ity tests t o d etermine t he percent of relative
compaction o f the compacted backfill materials.
