11. CONCRETE SHALL BE "LARGE ROCK:' PUMP MIX 3,500 PSI MINIMUM AT 28 DAYS, SLUMP SHALL NOT

12. CONCRETE SHALL HAVE 118" PER FOOT PITCH MIN., SEE CIVIL PLANS FOR VERTICAL CONTROL

46. SLOPES 6:1 OR STEEPER REQUIRING EROSION CONTROL MEASURES AS SPECIFIED HEREIN SHALL BE
TREATED WITH ONE OR MORE OF THE FOLLOWING PLANTING STANDARDS:
a. STANDARD 1 -COVER CROP/REINFORCED STRAW MATTING:
COVER CROP SHALL BE A SEED MIX TYPICALLY MADE UP OF QUICK GERMINATING AND FAST
COVERING GRASSES, CLOVERS, AND/OR WILD FLOWERS. SUBMIT THE SPECIFIC SEED MIX FOR
CITY APPROVAL PRIOR TO APPLICATION. THE COVER CROP SHALL BE APPLIED AT A RATE AND
MANNER SUFFICIENT TO PROVIDE 90% COVERAGE WITHIN THIRTY (30) DAYS.
TYPE OF REINFORCED STRAW MATTING SHALL BE APPROVED BY THE CITY AND STAKED TO THE
SLOPE AS RECOMMENDED BY THE MANUFACTURER.
REINFORCED STRAW MATTING SHALL BE REQUIRED WHEN PLANTING OCCURS BETWEEN
AUGUST 15ANDAPRIL 15. THE COVER CROP AND/OR REINFORCED STRAW MAT SHALL BE USED
THE REMAINDER OF THE YEAR.
b. STANDARD #2 -GROUND COVER
ONE HUNDRED (100%) PERCENT OF THE AREA SHALL BE PLANTED WITH A GROUND COVER

WEED ERADICATION NOTES
A. PRIOR TO ANY NEW PLANTING OPERATIONS TAKING PLACE WITHIN THE WORK AREA LIMITS OF THIS PROJECT,
ALL ANNUAL AND PERENNIAL WEEDS ARE TO ERADICATED.
8, THE APPLICATION OF HERBICIDES USED IN THE PROCESS OF ELIMINATING ALL NOXIOUS WEEDS AND POORLY
PERFORMING ORNAMENTAL TURF AREAS WITHIN THE LIMITS OF THIS PROJECT SHALL BE DONE BY A STATE
LICENSED APPLICATOR FOR THE SPECIFIC HERBICIDES BEING APPLIED. APPLICATION OF THESE PRODUCTS
WILL ADHERE TO ALL CURRENT STATE STANDARDS RELATING TO THE STORAGE AND APPLICATION
PROCEDURES.
C. THE WEED-ABATEMENT PROGRAM IS NOT TO COMMENCE UNTIL THE ENTIRE IRRIGATION SYSTEM HAS BEEN
REPAIRED AND CONFIRMED TO BE REMOTELY OPERABLE AND PERFORMING PER THE INTENT OF THE ORIGINAL
IRRIGATION DESIGN LAYOUT AND INSTALLATION STANDARDS. PRIOR TO THE WEED ABATEMENT PROGRAM
BEGINNING, ALL PLANTING AREAS WITHIN THE LIMITS OF THIS PROJECT ARE TO BE WATERED FOR A PERIOD
OF 30 DAYS TO ENCOURAGE ADDITIONAL PLANT GROWTH. WAIT (2) DAYS AFTER THE WATERING
PROGRAM AND THEN PROCEED WITH STEP 'D'.
D. REMOVE AND DISPOSE OF ALL EXISTING ANNUAL WEEDS, GRASSES AND ORNAMENTAL TURF WHERE INDICTED.
THE TURF AND ANY PERENNIAL WEEDS SHALL BE SPRAYED WITH A SYSTEMIC HERBICIDE
AND THEN WAIT FOR A PERIOD OF TIME DEFINED BY THE MANUFACTURER FORA COMPLETE KILL TO
TAKE PLACE. TYPICALLY THIS IS BETWEEN 7 AND 14 DAYS DEPENDING ON CURRENT WEATHER CONDITIONS.
E. REMOVE ANY REMAINING WEEDS AND TURF AND THEN FERTILIZE ALL PLANTER BEDS AND LAWN AREAS WITH
AMMONIUM SULFATE AT A RATE OF 5 LBS.11000 S.F. AND AS NECESSARY TO GERMINATE ALL RESIDUAL WEED
SEED OR GRASSES THAT MAY REMAIN. WATER FOR A PERIOD OF 30 DAYS,
F. IF ANY PERENNIAL WEEDS OR GRASSES REAPPEAR, APPLY APPROVED SYSTEMIC HERBICIDE OVER THE
AFFECTED AREAS. IF ANY ANNUAL WEEDS APPEAR, APPLY APPROVED CONTACT HERBICIDE OVER THESE
AFFECTED AREAS. DO NOT IRRIGATE FOR A MINIMUM OF 2 DAYS FOLLOWING THE APPLICATION OF THE
SYSTEMIC AND CONTACT HERBICIDES. WATER ALL PLANTER BEDS AND TURF AREAS FOR ANOTHER
30 DAYS.
G. REMOVE ALL REMNANTS OF DEAD WEEDS AND TURF AND IF IN THE OPINION OF THE LANDSCAPE
CONTRACTOR THEY FEEL A COMPLETE WEED KILL HAS TAKEN PLACE, THEY MAY PROCEED WITH THE SOIL
PREPARATION AND FINE GRADING PROCESS REQUIRED PRIOR TO BEGINNING THE PLANTING PHASE.
