ON SITE CROSS-CONNECTIONS BETWEEN RECYCLED WATER LINES AND POTABLE WATER LINES ARE STRICTLY PROHIBITED. 6. NO SUBSTITUTION OF PIPING MATERIALS WILL BE ALLOWED WITHOUT PRIOR APPROVAL BY THE CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT. 7. ALL ONSITE PIPES SHALL HAVE WARNING TAPE PER CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT'S RULES AND REGULATIONS. 8. THE IRRIGATION SYSTEMS SHALL BE RUN BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 10:00 PM AND 6:00 AM THE FOLLOWING MORNING. SPOT IRRIGATION COULD BE DONE AT A DIFFERENT TIME WITH QUALIFIED SUPERVISION PERSONNEL ON SITE. 9. PROVIDE A MINIMUM OF AT LEAST 16 INCHES OF COVER OVER ALL WIRING AND PIPING. AND REGULATIONS. 10. Installation of Polyvinyl Chloride Pipe: 1, Because of the nature of plastic pipe and fittings, exercise caution In handling, loading and storing, to avoid damage. 2. The pipe and fittlogs shall be stored under cover until using, and shall be transported In a vehicle with c bed long enough to allow length of pipe to lay flat so as not to be subjected to undue bending or concentrated external load at any-point. 3. Any pipe that hos been dented or damaged shall be discarded until such dented or damaged section Is cut and rejoined with a coupling. 4. Trench depth shall be as specified above from the finish grade to the top of the pipe. The bottom of trench shall be free of rocks, clods, and other sharp-edged objects. 5. Pipe ends and fittings shall be wiped with P68 Primer, or equal, before welding solvent Is applied. Welded Joints shall be given a minimum of 15 minutes to set before moving or handling. All field cuts shell be beveled to remove burrs and excess before fitting and gluing together. 6. Pipe shall be snaked from aide-to-side of trench bottom to allow for expansion and contraction. 7. If the minimum rates of application have not been met, the Landscape Architect wlll require the distribution of additional quantities of these materials to fulfill the minimum requirements specified. After lnstollotlon of plant materials, but prior to the pre-maintenance site observation, the Landscape Architect, with the heretofore specified signed copies of the required certificates and related items, shall Invoice such material, comparing the total area and/or the amounts specified. If the minimum amounts have not been furnished, the Landscape Architect will nequire the lnstollotlon of oddltlonol materials to fulfill the minimum requirements specified. C. A sample of the soil amendments shall be dellvered to the Landscape Architect within 15 days after recording of the contract for submittal to o testing laboratory, along with specifications of each product. After soil amendments hove been thoroughly mixed Into the site, random samples of the mixed sol! will be token by the engineer ond submitted to the soil laboratory for comparison to a control mix. Layout of Trees: All trees(24" box size and lorger)sholl be placed In the landscape per the direction of the Landscape Architect prior to lnstollotlon of Irrigation system. The trees shall then be moved so that planting holes can be excavated and amended. The trees shell then be Installed in their respective hoes and positioned In the holes per direction of the Landscape Architect. C. Layout Planting: Locations shell be approved by the Landscape Architect. Establishment Period: Trees, Shrubs, Vines and Ground Covers -The estobllshment period sholl begin on, the dote that the Landscape Architect inspects and gives written provisional acceptance of the work and shall be ninety (90) calendar days. The estobllshment period may be extended or shortened al the discretion of the Landscape Architect. C. Maintenance Operations: Plants shell be kept In a healthy, growing condition by watering, pruning, mowing, reseeding, rolling, resodding, trimming, edging, fertilizing, restoking, pest control, spraying, weeding and oil other necessary operations of maintenance. Plontlng beds shall be kept free of weeds, grass and other undesired vegetative growth, and lawn areas shall be kept free from all weeds. During the specified maintenance period, all plants that ore dead or severely distressed shall be replaced immediately. All seasonal color, annuals or perennials shall be maintained In a vigorous, healthy condition through the maintenance period. D. Extended Maintenance: When, In the opinion of the Landscape Architect, there Is Improper maintenance, poor or unhealthy condition of plant moterlols, the Contractor shall be responsible for oddilional maintenance of the work at no additional cost to the contract until all the work Is acceptable. E. Protection: The Contractor shall be responsible for providing odequote protection of all planting areas against traffic or other use by erecting fencing or other acceptable means Immediately ofter the planting is completed. Warning signs and barricades shall be placed In various high- traffic areas. Damaged areas shall be repaired immediately by the Contractor. F. Weeding and Cultivating: All tree, shrub, groundcover and hydrosaeded. areas shall be kepi free of debr1s and weeds. Groundcover and shrub oreos shall be cultivated at Intervals of not more then fourteen (14) days minimum. G. Replacement: During the maintenance period, plonls which die or which ore In an unhealthy or badly Impaired condition shell be replaced by the Contractor within fourteen (14) days after unsatlsfoctary condition Is evident. No replacement of plantings shall be made In ony season definitely unfavorable for planting. At the conclusion of the maintenance period the Landscape Architect wlll make on inspection of the work to determine the condition of oil plants. All unhealthy plants shall be removed from the site and replaced with plants of the some kinda and sizes as originally specified. Acceptance: At the conclusion of the maintenance period, on Inspection shall be mode by the Londscope Architect, upon written notice requesting inspection before acceptance.
