(CTE) has performed observation and testing of compacted fill materials during recent site improvements. This letter is provided as certification that the recent fill or backfill placement has been conducted in substantial conformance with the applicable plans and specifications for the project. Field-testing of the compacted trench fill material was conducted as scheduled by the contractor between May 8 20, 2020 and March 24, 2021. Testing was performed in general accordance with ASTM D-6938 (nuclear method). Results of the field-testing indicate that fill materials in the subject areas were compacted to a minimum of 90 and 95 percent (depending on location and requirements) of the laboratory maximum dry density as determined by test method ASTM D-1557. Tabulated results of the field compaction testing performed are provided in the attached Table I, “Compaction Test Summary”. The laboratory maximum density results are provided in Table II, “Laboratory Test Results.” Figure 1 provides approximate compaction test locations. This letter is subject to the same limitations as the other project geotechnical documents. The opportunity to be of service is appreciated.
