HomeMy WebLinkAbout2021-09-07; Traffic and Mobility Commission; ; POLICE REPORTMonthly Police Report September 7, 2021 Corporal Matt Bowen Schools Open August 24th •Motors are back to traffic enforcement at the schools to keep kids safe & Crossing Guards back at the school locations 2 Avenida Encinas Parking Restrictions •City Council adopted and ordinance to restrict overnight parking on Avenida Encinas between Palomar Airport Road and Poinsettia Lane and on Rain Tree Drive and Macadamia Drive. The ordinance goes into affect on August 28, 2021, and the hours of “no parking” are from 11 P.M. to 5 A.M. 3 Electric Vehicle Charging Station Enforcement •In accordance with CVC 22511, the city has adopted an ordinance which prohibits parking a vehicle in an EV parking spot unless the vehicle is actively charging or the connected EV has not exceeded the 2-hour parking time limit, whichever duration is greater. •Starting September 1st,the Carlsbad Police Department will start enforcing city electric vehicle charging station violations with the first month focusing on education. 4 Electronic Message Board •The police Department purchased an electronic message board. The message board has been deployed at Carlsbad Boulevard north of Cannon Road, facing southbound traffic. The message reads “Loud Exhaust Enforced Ahead.” 5
