PACIFIC OCEAN CITY OF ENCINITAS _, '" PROJECT DESCRIPTION "'SITE {lo Costa Ave) THE PROJECT IS THE EMERGENCY STABILIZATION OF A MANUFACTURED SLOPE THAT HAS FAILED. TWO SEPARATE PROPERTIES ARE AFFECTED, 1) CALSO LLC., AND 2) THE BANICH, POWERS PROPERTY OWNERS. THAT PORTION OF THE FAILED SLOPE ON THE CALSO PROPERTY WILL RECIEVE TEMPORARY IRRIGATION. THE P.O.C. IS PROPOSED TO BE A CONSTRUCTION METER ATTACHED TO A FIRE HYDRANT LOCATED ON LA COSTA AVENUE. THE PRESSURE MAINLINE WILL BE INSTALLED BELOW-GRADE, AND TlrlE LATERALS WILL BE INSTALLED ABOVE-GRADE. A HYDROSEED MIX WILL PROVIDE TEMPORARY EROSION CONTROL COVER. THAT POR IION OF THE FAILED SLOPE ON THE BANICH, POWERS PROPERTY WILL BE PERMANENTLY RE-IRRIGATED WITH COMPONENTS ATTACHED TO AN EXISTING, LANDSCAPE PRESUURE MAINLINE. ANY NEW MAINLINE WILL BE BELOW-GRADE AND NEW LATERAL WILL BE ABOVE-GRADE. BACKFLOW PREVENTER TEST NOTE: ALL IRRIGATION BACKFLOW PREVENTERS SHALL BE TESTED BY A CERTIFIED TESTER AND RESULTS MUST BE GIVEN TO THE CITY AND TlrlE CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT. PIPE BETWEEN THE METER AND BACKFLOW PREVENTER SHALL BE "SCHEDULE K HARD COPPER". APPROVED CONTRACT BACK FLOW TESTERS CAN BE FOUND ON THE CITY WEB SITE AT: www.ci.carlsbad.ea.us/pdfdoc.html?pid=340 CONTRACTOR REQUIREMENTS: 1. PRIOR TO THE START OF GRADING, THE APPLICANT OR APPLICANT'S AGENT SHALL OBTAIN APPROVAL OF A CONSTRUCTION SCHEDULE AND/OR EXHIBIT OUTLINING THE TIMING OF THE SLOPE PLANTING AND IRRIGATION. 2.
