Discussion
In June 2020, the city contracted with a consultant to assist in performing an ,update of the city's
Engineering Standards, drawings and specifications. Over the past year, the consultant has met
with staff across several departments including all departments in the Public Works Branch,
Parks & Recreation, and Community Development Land Development Engineering Division to
complete a thorough review of necessary updates. A final draft of the Engineering Standards,
drawings and specifications have been prepared.
Next Steps
Staff is completing administrative review of the final draft Engineering Standards, which will be
available on the city website by mid-October for a 30-day public comment period.
Staff will incorporate public comments, as appropriate, and post the final documents to the city
website by early December. For future updates, the City Engineer will ensure the city's
Engineering Standards are reviewed and updated on a regular schedule.
