In existing buildings, when alterations, repairs or additions requiring a permit occur, the dwelling unit shall be provided with smoke alarms located as required for new dwellings; the smoke alarms shall be interconnected and hard wired. Note on the plans that receptacle outlet locations will comply with CEC Article 210.52. 12. Per CEC Article 210.11 (C)1, note on the plans that there will be a minimum of 2 small appliance branch circuits within the locations specified in Article 210.52(8), i.e., kitchen and dining areas.
