We have r eviewed the proposed alternate foundation design
and find the following items need attention ,
1 . The Geor ge Gauvis Company , the prime structural firm,
should review the proposed alternate and indicate,in
wri ting, whether or not it complemen ts their loadings re
load transfer to earth i .e . punching shear, etc .
2 . The soils engineer, when he has adequate data, should
indicate the anticipated quantity of expansion and comment
on the soil movement assumed i n the calculation for the
alternate desi gn .
