Section 5416. Health and Safety Code, State of California
There shall be not less than one water closet for each 2o employees or fractional part thereof working at a construction job
site. The waer closet shall consist of a patented chemical type toilet.
For the purpose of this section the term construction site shall mean the location on which actual, construction of a building
is in progress.
A violation of this section shall constitute a misdemeanor.
All construction or work for which a permit is required shall be subject to inspection and all such construction or work shall
remain accessible and exposed for inspection purposes until approved by the inspector. Work shall not be done beyond the
point indicated in each successive inspection without first obtaining the approval of the inspector.

ACCESSIBILITY FOR REMODELS, ADDITIONS, AND REPAIRS
The following disabled access items are taken from the 2016 edition of California Building
Code. Per Section 1.9.1.2, all privately funded public accommodations and commercial
facilities shall be accessible to persons with disabilities.
Where existing elements or spaces are altered, each altered element or space shall
comply with applicable requirements of Division 2, including CBC section 11 B-202.4.
CBC section 11 B-202.4 states that when alterations or additions are made to existing
buildings, an accessible path of travel to the specific area of alteration shall be provided.
See exceptions to 11 B-202.4.

a) Hoods shall be secured in place to resist the lateral loads given in the
California Building Code, Title 24, Part 2 by non-combustible supports.

Provide structural calculations to show that the existing ceiling/roof framing is
adequate to support the weight of the hoods, exhaust fans, and make-up air
systems in excess of 400 pounds. ASCE 1.3.1.4 (6) c.i.
Provide a net exhaust airflow calculation based on the manufacturer installation
instructions for all equipment being installed under each hood and the required
replacement/make-up air for each hood. Include an air balance schedule. State
whether the appliances are extra-heavy-duty, heavy-duty, medium-duty or light-
duty. If required, the exhaust and make-up air systems shall be connected by an
electrical interlocking switch.
PLUMBING REVIEW
Please show that the water supply connection to the commercial dish washing
machine(s) is protected by an air gap or a back-flow prevention device. CPC
414.2.
Show that indirect waste pipes that are 5' to 15' long are trapped. (A vent is not
required on the indirect waste pipe). CPC 803.3.
Show that indirect waste pipes that are less than 15' in length are provided with a
clean-out. CPC 803.3.
Provide a sizing chart showing the appropriate size of the grease interceptor
using gravity flow rates or fixture capacity.
No food waste disposer or dishwasher shall be connected to or discharge into a
grease interceptor. Please remove the food waste disposer and/or dishwasher
from the grease waste. CPC 1014.1.3.
Each fixture discharging into a grease interceptor shall be individually trapped
and vented in an approved manner. Please show on the plans how each fixture
entering the grease interceptor is vented individually with trap arm lengths in
compliance with CPC 1002.2.
a) Show all floor drains and the prep sink flowing through the grease
interceptor.
Plumbing fixtures or equipment connected to a Type A and B hydromechanical
grease interceptor shall discharge through an approved type of vented flow
control installed in a readily accessible and visible location. CPC 1014.2. Please
provide details of the flow control and show on the plans.
The vented flow control device shall be located such that no system vent shall be
between the flow control and the grease interceptor inlet. CPC 1014.2.

Plans are approved contingent upon the following:
1) Department of Environmental Health (DElI) stamp ed Dians shall be maintained at the iobslte and available for review at the time of the inspection.
2) Changes to equipment layout, menu, or application must be submitted for approval. Changes made without approval will make the plan approval null and void.
3) Obtain local Building Department and all applicable agencies permits and approvals PRIOR TO FINAL INSPECTION AND
APPROVAL TO OPERATE BY THIS DEPARTMENT.
4) All food and utensil-related equipment shall be certified to applicable sanitation standards by an ANSI accredited testing agency.
5) Upon completion of 500/6-80% of construction, email: celeste.oenn(ãsdcountv.ca.gov to schedule an inspection. In lieu of a
plumbing inspection by DEH, ensure that the plumbing is constructed to these standards:
Floor sinks shall be installed Y2 exposed and equipped with an appropriate grill cover if no access is provided for cleaning.
Drain lines shall slope 'A" per foot, shall not exceed 15' in length and shall terminate a minimum of 1" above the floor sink
with a legal au gap or otherwise approved by the enforcing agency. Drain lines shall not intersect walkways or door ways.
No condensate drainage of any kind can drain to the mop sink.
3-compartment sinks, preparation sinks, dump sinks, and any other plumbed equipment must drain indirect to a floor sink.
C. Grease traps/interceptors, if required by the local waste water authority must be located outside of the food preparation, food
storage, or warewashing areas.
Floor surfaces must be sloped 1:50 to required floor drains.
Conduits of all types shall be installed within walls as practicable. When otherwise installed, they shall be mounted or enclosed
in a chase so as to facilitate cleaning.
6) Owners and/or operators must pass an approved and accredited Food Safety Certification course. Proof of successful completion of
this course is to be furnished at the final inspection.
7) All equipment is to be in place and functional. At the time when the final inspection is requested, the facility shall have all utilities
operational and all refrigeration shall have an ambient air temperature of 387 or below and shall be equipped with a thermometer

PURPOSE
This checklist is intended to assist building permit applicants identify which Climate Action Plan (CAP) ordinance
requirements apply to their projects. The completed checklist must be included in the building permit application. It may be
necessary to supplement the completed checklist with supporting materials, calculations or certifications, to demonstrate
full compliance with CAP ordinance requirements. For example, projects that propose or require a performance approach
to comply with energy-related measures will need to attach to this checklist separate calculations and documentation as
specified by the ordinances.
