(3) Wdter all planting areas thoroughly and continuously for a
period of three (3) consecutive weeks. The Landscape Archi-
tect shall approve spec1f1c watering duration and frequency pro-
gram designed to germinate all res1dual weed seeds.
(41 Discontinue watering process for two (2) days and then apply
a nonselective broad spectrum systemic berb1cide if perenn1al
weeds appear on the slopes. The type of chemical used w1ll be
determined by a licensed pest control advisor. If annual weeds
appear, use straight contact herbtcide as per the pest contr-ol
adv1so~•s recommendations. No ~ater shall oe applied fro~ a

Water all planting areas thoroughly 3nd conti~uously for three
(J) consecutive days to saturate ~pper layers of sail to a mini-
mum depth of 6°· prior to hydroseeding operatinn.
Allow planting area's soil surface to dry out for one day only
prior to the hydroseeding application. Care must be taken to
not allow the soil surface to be super-saturated with water
prior to the hydroseeding 1nstallat1on. At the same t1me the
so1l surface should not be bone dry. There should be some resi-

the so,1, the mulch shall not for~ a blotter like material.
The spray opcrat1on must be so d1rected that the slurry spray
will penetrate the s011 surEace as to drill and mix the slurry
c~mponents into the soil, thus ensuring m~x1mum 1mpregnat1on
and coverage. The Lmpregnation and m1x1ng of the components

as per spec1ficat1ons.
Slurry preparation shall beg1n by adding water to the tank
when the eng1ne ts at one-half throttle. When the water
level has reached the height of the agitator shaft and
good rec1rculat1on has been established, the fertilizers
shall be added to the mixture. The tank shall be at least

Hand planted specie shall be contract grown by the developer
or 1nstall1ng landscape ·contractor at least 8 to 12 months 1n
advance of installation to ensure ava1ldblity of the correct
specle and their respective quant1t1es.
HYOROSEEDI:-IG EQUIPMENT
(a) The above spec1f1ed components shall be mixed togeth~r
in the hydroseeding machine conta1ning at least 2,000
gallons of water to allow for a homogeneous slurry which
is thoroughly mixed and can be applied easily without
clogging. The machine must be approved by the Landscape

MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES
General care and maintenance shall consist of the proper watertng,
fert1l1zing Jnd clean up during the germination and establishment
period of growth. The maintenance per1od shall be at least three
(3) cont1nuous months.
( ll GERMINATION STATE IRRIGATION
Approximately 24 hours after hydromulching tne planting areas,
the watering sequence should be initiated. The water should be
left on long enough to ,moisten the soil thoroughly to the depth
of the slurry mulch taking care not to super-saturate or ~ash
away the slurry seed. Frequent, light irrigation must oc per-
formed to establish seedling growth. The contractor will have
to .repa1r all seed washing or er;os1on at his own expense. the
slurry mulch and seed must be irrigated frequently to ma1ntain
op~1mum mo1s~ure content for maximum germ1nat1on. The irriga-
tion system must be observed at all times while 1n operation.
The irrigation sequence must be determined by air temperature.
preva1l1ng ~1nd velocity, soil texture, orientation and other
.log1st1cal problems. It ts imperitive that the soil be kept
moist at all times during germination period. The light, fre-
.quent irrigation sequence should continue until the seedlings
have g~awn beyond the germ1nat1on stage. The germination stage
w1ll range from 45 ~o 60 days. ·
(2) ESTABL!SIIMENT STACE IRRIGATION
( 3 J
(◄)
The irrigation sequence (frequency) shall be gradually ~educed
while the durat1on of each watering cycle shall be gradually
increased. A specif1~ watering program shall be determined by
the Landscape Arch1tect and/or h1s consultant, but should approx-
imate watering once a day for 60 to 90 days.
HAR.DENING orr STACE IRRIGATION
At the end of the 9<l-day inaintenance pe,·iod, as determ111ed by
the Landscape Architect, the watering frequency shall be slowly
reduced to approximately once every three days depending upon
the season, while 1ncreas1ng the duration of the ~ater1ng suf-
f1=iently to allow for max1mum water penetration for the expand-
ing root system, and at the same time taking care not to cause
erosion. The contractor shall be responsible for adjusting
water1ng frequency and duration ta promote opt1mum growing con-dit1ons.
FERTILIZATION
The contractor shall fer~1lize all planted and hydroseeded areas
at 30 day intervals. 'Each fertilizer application shall consist
of !16-6-8) commerc1al fertilizer, or approved equal. applied
at the rate of S00 lbs. per acre and ferrous sulphate applied
at the rate of 220 lbs. oer ,1cre.

( 7)
Any concentrated development of weed q~ow~h dppcar1ng ln the
plantlnq areas during the maintenance period shall be removed
at 30 day 1ntarvals.
MIN I:•1LM COVERAGE
rinal acceptance will be given at the end of the 90 day period
once so, germin~t1on and plant establishment has b.:en obtained.
flNAL APPROVAL M~O ~.CCEP'l",>.NC£
final approval and acceptanc~ wLll be given 1n writing by the
