retired from his North County orthopedic surgery practice of 33 years and he volunteers his time and talent to
support older adults who have questions and concerns about their health.
Carlsbad Cruisers
The senior center walking club returned in December after a very long break due to the pandemic.
Adults walk and talk every Tuesday from 9 until 10 a.m. to explore the Carlsbad community, make new
friends and keep each other accountable for this healthy habit. Dogs, strollers, family, and friends are
all always welcome.
Restorative and Yin Yoga
Newly offered at the Carlsbad Senior Center, Restorative and Yin Yoga invite students to relax and
renew thru a series of Yoga Poses. Classes include breathing meditations and move into yin, gentle and
restorative yoga poses. Yin poses target and stimulate the dense connective tissue, promotes tissue
strength, vitality, hydration, and resilience.

Pickleball has taken Carlsbad by storm and Silver Paddles is the class to learn the game and ramp it up
to the intermediate level. Classes prepare adults with skills needed to play this fun and social game.
Intermediate classes ramp up the pace with high energy workouts that focuses on fast ball rallies and
advanced strategies.

increased strength without tension, and release students from stress and pain. Moving meditations

Education

UCSD with a weekly zoom stimulating discussions group about each topic. Historian, Authors and
Oceanographers have joined in the discussion groups to highlight the lecture viewed.

instead of lunch. This very popular class has become the go-to class for foodies who want to whip up
fun, food, health, and science to optimize an epicurean lifestyle. Chef Kyle offers a wide selection of
menu items from Chilean to Slovak, delicacies from around the world.
