Dear Mr. Arnold,
This final report presents the results of the compaction testing at the subject project.
Observation and testing was generally performed for flatwork and minor site
improvements in the center courtyard of the site. Compaction tests were taken on
the subject improvements on a periodic basis, as directed by your field
representative during the period of December 8th, 2020, through March 31st, 2021. A
field daily report was prepared by our soil’s technicians for each day of testing and a
copy was provided to the jobsite superintendent.
Field density testing was performed using direct transmission nuclear methods,
ASTM D6938/D2950. The maximum density – optimum moisture relationship for the
soil was established in the laboratory by the ASTM D1557 test method. In-place
density tests indicated relative compaction of 90% or greater was achieved. This
meets the Standard Specifications for Public Works Construction for areas not
receiving vehicular loads.
A figure showing approximate in-place density test locations and a summary of all
field and laboratory tests performed is attached to this report. This report does not
constitute certification of compaction of the subject improvements. We have
performed the tests, as previously described, in accordance to generally accepted soil
