IRRIGATION POINT-OF-CONNECTION NOTES:
1 THE SPRINKLER SYSTEM DESIGN IS BASED ON A MINIMUM AVAILABLE FLOW OF 11 GPM AND A MINIMUM STATIC WATER PRESSURE OF 58 PSI
AT THE POINT OF CONNECTION FOR THE SITE AND A MINIMUM AVAILABLE FLOW OF 8 GPM AND A MINIMUM STATIC WATER PRESSURE OF 42
PSI AT THE POINT OF CONNECTION FOR THE MODEL. THE IRRIGATION CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE A PRESSURE REGULATOR AT THE
POINT OF CONNECTION AS SPECIFIED ON PLAN. THE IRRIGATION CONTRACTOR SHALL VERIFY WATER PRESSURE ON SITE PRIOR TO
CONSTRUCTION, REPORT ANY DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE WATER PRESSURE INDICATED ON THE DRAWINGS, ANO THE ACTUAL PRESSURE
READING TO THE LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT.
2 IRRIGATION CONTRACfOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR COORDINATING CONNECTION TO THE P.O.C., WITH MINIMUM DISRUPTION TO THE EXISTING
WATER SYSTEM. NOTIFY GENERAL CONTRACTOR 48 HOURS IN ADVANCE OF INSTALLATION, SCHEDULE INSTALLATION AT OWNER'S
CONVENIENCE.
3. ALL PIPING BETWEEN POINT OF CONNECTION AND THE BACK FLOW PREVENTION DEVICE SHALL BE OF MATERIALS AND INSTALLATION
METHODS REQUIRED BY LOCAL CODE.
WHEREVER POSSIBLE, TRENCHING WITHIN THE DRIP LINES OF TREES SHOULD BE INSTALLED RADIAL TO THE
TRUNK.
IRRIGATION SYSTEM HEAD LAYOUT
DUE TO THE SCALE OF THIS DRAWING THE CONTRACTOR SHOULD BE AWARE OF THE POSSIBILITY THAT THE
NEED FOR MINOR ADJUSTMENTS TO THE IRRIGATION SYSTEM MAY BE NECESSARY TO PROVIDE 100%
COVERAGE. THESE ADJUSTMENTS COULD INCLUDE NOZZLE CHANGES AND/OR ADDITION OR DELETION OF
INDIVIDUAL HEADS TO COMPENSATE FOR CHANGES MADE ON THE SITE.
PRESSURE COMPENSATING SCREEN (IF NEEDED)
THE CONTRACTOR SHALL INSTALL ONE (1) TORO PRESSURE COMPENSATING SCREEN PER HEAD IN ALL
IRRIGATION INSTALLATIONS WHERE RADIUS REDUCTION IS REQUIRED. USE OF THE SCREENS WILL ALSO AID
IN MINIMIZING OVERSPRAY CONDITIONS AND FOGGING CAUSED BY EXCESS PRESSURE. FOR SCREEN
SELECTION REFER TO PRESSURE COMPENSATING SCREEN CHART.
PROVIDE A MINIMUM OF 2 EXTRA CONTROL WIRES OF A DIFFERENT COLOR AND 1 EXTRA COMMON TO THE
END OF EACH MAINLINE RUN FROM THE CONTROLLERS. LOOP THESE WIRES INTO 1 VALVE BOX OF EACH
CLUSTER ALONG THE RUN.
PLACE LOCATOR TAPE ON ALL MAINLINE PIPE, EXCEPT WHERE VALVE WIRES ARE BUNDLED WITH THE
MAINLINE.

WATER PRESSURE OF 58 PSI AT THE POINT OF CONNECTION FOR THE S!TE /\ND A MINIMUM /\V/\ILABLE FLOW OF
8 GPM ANDA MINIMUM STATIC WArER PRESSURE OF 42 PSI AT THE POINT OF CONNECTION FOR THE MODEL.
THE IRRIGATION CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE A PRESSUF'\E REGULATOR AT THE POINT OF CONNECTION AS
SPECIFIED ON PLAN. THE IRRIGATION CONTRACTOR SHALL VERIFY WATER PRESSURE ON SITE PRIOR TO
CONSTRUCTION, REPORT ANY DJFFERENCE BETWEEN THE WATER PRESSURE lNOlCATED ON THE DRAWINGS,
AND THE ACTUAL PRESSURE READING TO THE LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT
2. IRRIGATION CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR COORDINATING CONNECTION TO THE P.O.C., WlT!-1 MINIMUM
DISRUPTION ro THE EXISTING WATER SYSTEM. NOTIFY GENERAL CONTRACTOR 48 J--lOUF'\S IN ADVANCE OF
INSTALLATION, SCHEDULE INSTALLATION AT OWNER'S CONVENIENCE.
3. ALL PIPING BETWEEN PO!NT OF CONNECTION AND THE BACK FLOW PREVENTION DEVICE SHALL BE OF
MATERIALS AND INSTALLATION METHODS REQUIRED BY LOCAL CODE.
4. THIS DESIGN IS DIAGRAMMATIC, ALL PIPING, VALVES, ETC. SHOWN WITHIN PAVED AREAS ARE FOR DESIGN
CLARIFICATION ONLY, AND SHALL BE INSTALLED JN PLANTING Afl:EAS WHERE POSSIBLE. AVOID t\NY CONFLICTS
EJETWEEN rHE ff{RIGATION SYSTEM AND EXISTING s mucruRES, u nuTIES AND PLANTING.
5. IRRIGATION SLEEVING UNDER PAVING fO BE PROVIDED BY IRRIGATION CONTRACTOR. VERIFY SLEEVING
REQUIREMENTS IN FIELD AND REPORT ANY DISCREPANCIES TO LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT. SLEEVES SHALL BE
PROVIDED BY IRRIGATION CONTRACTOR AND SHALL BE SCHEDULE 80 PVC AND SIZED PER THE
SPECIFIGATJONS AND THE LEGEND. EXTEND All SLEEVES MINIMUM TWELVE (12) INCHES BEYOND PAVING
EDGES.
6. EXERCISE EXTHEME CARE WHEN EXCAVATING FOR IRRIGATION SYSTEM DUE TO EXISTING U flLITIES. IT JS THE
RESPONSIBILITY OF THE IRRIGATION CONTRACTOR TO BECOME FAMILIAR WITH All GRADE DIFFERENCES,
LOCATION OF WALLS, STRUCTURES AND UNDERGROUND UT!UTIES
