Overview of Police Activities During the Month of March
Recommended Action
Receive a presentation from City of Carlsbad Police Department overviewing the police
activities related to traffic and mobility during the month of March.
Fiscal Analysis
This action has no fiscal impact.
Environmental Evaluation
In keeping with California Public Resources Code Section 21065, this action does not constitute
a “project” within the meaning of the California Environmental Quality Act in that it has no
potential to cause either a direct physical change in the environment, or a reasonably
foreseeable indirect physical change in the environment. Therefore, it does not require
environmental review.
Public Notification and Outreach
This item was noticed in keeping with the Ralph M. Brown Act and it was available for public
viewing and review at least 72 hours before the scheduled meeting date.

FATAL MOTORCYCLE COLLISION
•March 26, 2022, at 2:37 pm
•Carlsbad Boulevard at Solamar Drive
•24-year-old motorcyclist, rear-ended a Chevy Tahoe
•Initial speed estimate was over 90 mph
•Motorcycle caught on fire and ignited nearby brush
•Motorcyclist transported by air ambulance
•Rider was declared deceased upon arrival at UCSD
