Blending Stabilizer-Binder 12-15 lbs of Stabilizer per ton of decomposed granite of crushed 3/8" of 1/4" minus aggregated screenings. It is critical that Stabilizer be thoroughly and uniformly mixed throughout decomposed granite or crushed aggregate screenings. Blending shall be performed at the batch plant that will supply both the aggregate and stabilizer. B. Placement of Decomposed Granite Screenings of crushed 3/8" or 1/4" niinus aggregate screenings: Place aggregate in lifts and depths shown on standard drawings. Install per Stabilizer Solutions recommendations. Place aggregate screenings to 85% relaive compaction with a double drum roller (2-4 ton) or single drum roller (1000 labs) or vibratory plat tamp. Do not begin compaction for 6 hours after placement ahd moisture penetration. However, compaction must be completed within 48 hours of placement and moisture penetration. . ! I C. Repairs and Protections: Remove and replace stabilizer decomposed granite crushed 3/8" or 1/4" minus aggregate paving that is damaged, d6feCtive or does not meet requirements of this section. Repairs can be made by the following steps. ! 1. Rota till damaged area to the depth of stabilized aggregate and square up side walls. 2. If area is dry, moisten damaged portion lightly. 3. Pre-blend the dry required amount of stabilizer power with the proper amou'nt of aggregate in a concrete mixer. (12 lbs per ton) 4. Compact with a vibrating plate compactor or 1000 lbs drum roller. Keep traffic off areas for 12-48 hours after repair has been colTlpleted. D. Maintenance/ Repairs: During the firs year a minor amount of loose aggregate will appear on the surface (1" to 1/4") if this material exceed a 1/4" ~epth redistribute the material over the entire surface. Remove debris, such as grass clippings, leave or other materials by mechanically blowing or had raking the surface as need~d. Fill any areas with supplemental stabilized dg. Water thoroughly to the depth of 1". Compact with a power roller of no less than 1 OOOlb. For ruts greater than 1/4" in depth, s~arify or rotor till area and supplement with additional stabilizer decomposed granite materials to bring surface to Original grade. Water thoroughly to a depth of 1". Compact with power roller of not less than 1000Ibs. AFTER PLANTING OPERATIONS ARE COMPLETED, CONTRACTOR SHALL REMOVE TRASH, EXCESS SOIL, EMPTY PLANT CONTAINERS, OR OTHER ACCUMULATED DEBRIS FROM THE SITE AT NO COST TO OWNER, CONTRACTOR SHALL REPAIR SCARS, RUTS, OR MARS IN AREA CAUSED BY WORK OPERATIONS, AREAS SHALL BE LEFT IN NEAT AND ORDERLY CONDITIONS. 3.10 OBSERVATIONS A. CONTRACTOR SHALL GIVE FORTY-EIGHT (48) HOUR NOTICE AND SET APPOINTMENT FOR REVIEWS BY THE ARCHITECT. B. REVIEW BY ARCHITECT SHALL BE SCHEDULED FOR THE FOLLOWING OPERATIONS (AT A MINIMUM -SEE NOTES ON PLAN FOR OTHERS) 1. REVIEW OF PLANT MATERIAL AFTER DELIVERY TO THE SITE. 2. 3. TREE AND SHRUB PLACEMENT PRIOR TO DIGGING PLANTING PITS. REVIEW OF GROUND COVER LINES AND HEADERBOARD PRIOR TO PLANTING. 4. START OF ESTABLISHMENT PERIOD/ACCEPTANCE OF INSTALLATION. 3.11 GUARANTEE A. SHRUBS AND GROUNDCOVER SHALL BE GUARANTEED AS TO GROWTH AND HEALTH FOR A PERIOD OF 90 DAYS AFTER FINAL ACCEPTANCE BY THE OWNER OR HIS REPRESENTATIVE; 15 GALLON AND BOX SIZE TREES SHALL BE GUARANTEED FOR A PERIOD OF 1 YEAR AFTER DATE OF SUBSTANTIAL COMPLETION. B. PLANTS WHICH DIE OR LOSE MORE THAN 30 PERCENT OF HEIR ORIGINAL LEAVES SHALL BE REPLACED UNDER THIS SECTION. C. THE CONTRACTOR, WITHIN 14 DAYS OF WRITTEN NOTIFICATION BY THE OWNER, SHALL REMOVE AND REPLACE GUARANTEED PLANT MATERIALS WHICH FOR ANY REASON FAIL TO MEET THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE GUARANTEE. PLANTS MATERIAL REPLACED SHALL BE GUARANTEED FOR THE ORIGINAL PERIOD, STARTING FROM THE DATE OF REPLACEMENT. END OF SECTION 3.19 GUARANTEE A. B. C.
