hours of ethics training every two years.
The Maddy Act (California Government Code Sections 54970-54974) requires that on or before

We have to balance how our city protects our greatest natural asset -our wonderful coastline with the reality of
climate change and sea levels rising. The 97-98 El Nino altered our coastline and beaches in only one winter
season of weeks-long big swells and heavy rains. Tamarack, Ponto, and other beaches had no sand until the sand
was replaced before summer. Cardiff Row was shut down for weeks. We must protect our beaches and coastline!
