They are listed by UL for central station, local, auxiliary, and remote station systems. The FPD-7024 FACPs support four on-board initiating zones that can be expanded to eight using the FPC-7034. Each initiating zone supports two-wire and four-wire detectors configurable as Class A , Style D or Class B, Style B loops. Each zone can support up to 20 two-wire detectors, or any number of four-wire detectors depending on available power. Each FACP has a built-in digital fire alarm communicator transmitter (DACT). Enhance the FPD-7024 conventional system features by adding a D7039 Multiplex Expansion Module. Adding a D7039 Multiplex Expansion Module to the FPD-7024 turns the conventional FACP into an addressable FACP. The 07039 adds up to 247 addressable points to the base system and adds an additional 400 events to the history buffer for a total of 499 events. The D7039 also increases the number of programmable relay outputs from 19 to 59 and expands system users to 100. Notification Appliance Circuits (NACs) Two Class A, Style Z or Class B, Style Y NACs provide up to 4 A of regulated 24 VFWR power to operate horns, strobes, bells, and other notification appliances. Each NAC can be programmed to provide Temporal Code 3, California March, steady, pulsed, and synchronized output for Wheelock, Gentex, or System Sensor notification appliances. User Interface A viewing port in the locked control panel enclosure door shows the system status light-emitting diodes (LEDs) and liquid-crystal display (LCD) while maintaining system keypad security. Unlocking the enclosure door provides access to the system controls for silencing off-normal conditions, zone bypassing, detector resetting, testing, other fire functions, and programming. These functions are also available on all FMR-7033 LCD Keypads connected to the system. Organized Event Display Sorts alarm, trouble, and supervisory events into categories and allows scrolling through specific events. 2 I FPD-7024 Fire Alarm Control Panels History Buffer Detectors For two-wire detector compatibility, refer to The system stores events in a 99-event history buffer. DF-52301 :A2 • 5/17/13 - Page 1 of 4 Secondary Power (Battery) Charging Circuit: Supports lead-acid batteries only. Float-charge voltage: 27.6 VDC. Maximum current charge: 250 mA. Maximum battery capacity: 7.0 AH. Applications Example 1: Expand notification appliance power an additional 6.0 A. Use up to four Class B (Style Y) outputs or four Class A (Style Z) outputs (using ZNAC-4). For example, the FACP noti- fication appliance circuits will activate the FCPS when reverse- polarity activation occurs. Trouble conditions on the FCPS are sensed by the FACP through the notification appliance circuit. Example 2: Use the FCPS to expand auxiliary regulated 24- volt system power up to 4.0 A. Both resettable and non-reset- table power options are available. Resettable outputs are cre- ated by connecting the resettable output from the FACP to one or both of the FCPS inputs. Example 3: Use addressable control modules to activate the FCPS instead of activating it through the FACP notification appliance circuits. This typically allows for mounting the FCPS at greater distances* away from the FACP while expanding system architecture in various applications. For example, an addressable control module is used to acti- vate the FCPS, and an addressable monitor module is used to sense FCPS trouble conditions. Local auxiliary power output from the FCPS provides power to the addressable control module. NOTE: Addressable FACPs are capable of locating control and monitor modules at distances of up to 10,000 feet (3,046 meters). Sync Follower/Generator Note In some installations, it is necessary to synchronize the flash timing of all strobes in the system for ADA compliance. Strobes accomplish this by monitoring very short timing pulses on the NAC power which are created by the FACP. When installed at the end of a NAC wire run, the FCPS-24F56 can track (i.e. "follow") the strobe synchronization timing pulses on the existing NAC wire run. This maintains the overall system flash timing of the additional strobes attaches to the FCPS. When the FCPS-24FS6 is configured (via DIP switch settings) as a "sync follower," the FCPS's NAC outputs track the strobe synchronization pulses present at the FCPS's sync input ter- minal. The pulses originate from an upstream FACP or other power supply. When the FCPS-24FS6 is configured (via DIP switch settings) as a "sync generator:' the FCPS's sync input terminals are not used. Rather, the FCPS is the originator of the strobe synchro- nization pulses on the FCPS's NAC outputs. In "sync genera- tor" mode, the sync type (System Sensor, Wheelock, or Gentex) is selectable via DIP switch settings. Standards and Codes The FCPS-24F56 complies with the following standards: NFPA 72 National Fire Alarm Code. UL 864 Standard for Control Units for Fire Alarm Systems (NAC expander mode). UL 1481 Power Supplies for Fire Alarm Systems. Page 2 of 4— DF-52301:A2 • 5/17/13 Agency Listings and Approvals These listings and approvals apply to the modules specified in this document. Two-wire application . Light-emitting diodes (LEDs) indicate the status of the chamber, power, and alarm Removable terminal block to simplify wiring connections 'It The D263 family includes the following detector models: Model Description 02631H Two-wire with 135°F (57°C) heat sensor D2631HS Two-wire with 135°F (57°C) heat sensor and sounder * Sounders produce 85 dB at 10 ft (3 m). Each of these detector models is UL Listed and works with commercial fire protective signaling and household fire warning systems. Each model detects smoke particles produced during wood, paper, and fabric combustion. These detector models use an infrared (IR) LED light is source and a silicon photodiode to measure light in a chamber. A fine screen covers the chamber to deter insects and to reduce dust accumulation and nuisance alarms. During a fire, smoke particles reflect light onto the photodiode. When the photodiode measurements exceed the alarm threshold, the detector signals an alarm condition. After the alarm condition clears, interrupt power at the control panel to reset the detector. Use a D132B Reversing Relay Module to activate the sounder (85 dB at 10 ft [3 m]). When using a D13213, the LED does not latch on alarm. Chamber Calibration Tests Check the sensitivity and calibration of any of these detectors using a visual check, a magnet test, or a voltage measurement test. Visual check: When the detector's calibration is within the factory- listed range, the red alarm LED flashes once every 3.5 sec. If the detector's calibration is out of range for more than 24 h, the red alarm LED flashes once a second. Magnet test: 2 I D263 Photoelectric Smoke and Smoke and Heat Detectors Hold a magnet horizontally against the detector for about 10 sec and observe the LED. If the detector is within the factory-listed calibration range, it goes into alarm and the Alarm LED latches on. If the detector is too sensitive, the LED rapidly flashes six times (once every half second) and the detector signals an alarm. If the detector is not sensitive enough, the LED slowly flashes four times, once every 2 seconds, and the detector signals an alarm. If the detector does not operate, it does not signal an alarm. Voltage measurement test: Use a D1005 Test Cable and a digital voltmeter to measure the voltage and compare the results with the factory-listed sensitivity range. RMS measurements more accurately predict the power consumption of a device since they take into account the entire current draw profile including surge, repetitive surge, and peak values. The published RMS cur- rent is the maximum operating current of that device within its operating voltage range. This current maximum may or may not occur at the endpoints of the voltage range. Similarly, UL tests the audibility of devices in accordance with UL 464 by measuring them across the operating volt- age range to determine the minimum sound pressure level produced at any particular setting. During May 2004, UL also changed the way they list the voltage range of a device. All 12V products will be listed between 8 - 17.5V and all 24V products will be listed between 16 - 33V. Those devices are considered "regulat- ed". Any product that does not operate within these ranges will be listed as a "special application" with its operating voltage specified on the device. Notes Current draw for strobe-only products is shown in Table 1-A. Current draw for horn-only products is shown in Table 1-13. I2VDC 2-wire horn/strobe current is shown in Table 1-C. 24VDC 2-wire horn/strobe current draw is shown in Table 1-D. Current draw for other horn/strobe power supplies can be calculated by adding the strobe current in Table 1-A to the horn current in Table 1-13 from the chosen settings.
