Dyna-Thread sprinkler pipe represents an engineering advancement for the sprinkler pipe industry. It combines the safety and longevity of traditional Sch-40 pipe with quality and superior hydraulic advantages. Comparison to Schedule 40 I S Dyna-Thread's inside diameter is up to 3.6% larger than Sch-40 giving it superior hydraulics. And, when used in combination with Dyna-Flow pipe, down sizing often occurs. Dyna-Thread is fully listed and approved by UL, ULC, and FM for fire sprinkler applications. The life expectancy of Dyna-Thread and Sch-40 are equal based on the calculated wall thicknesses per UL. The consistent quality of steel used to make Dyna-Thread facilitates smooth threading and lower maintenance costs. The exterior of Dyna-Thread is protected by a clean, durable mill coating for extended shelf life and easy paint application. (9 <~> 9 Listed Approved Listed With its increased strength and lighter weight, Dyna-Thread reduces installation fatigue and is ideal for retro-fit applications. Corrosion Resistance Ratio (CRR) is a UL (Underwriters Laboratory) term for the estimated life expectancy of a pipe joint. This is based on the calculated wall thickness at the base of the first exposed thread, assumed to be the weakest point of the pipe length. Dyna- Thread and Sch-40 have the same calculated wall thicknesses at this point and are both assigned the same CRR of 1.00. The internal surface of all black Allied Tube & Conduit Fire Sprinkler pipe products up to 4.5000" in diameter is coated with our new Antibacterial Formula, "ABF". In scientific laboratory test, ABS proved to have superior resistance to microbial colonization of pipe walls, thereby delaying or possibly preventing the onset of Microbiologically Influenced corrosion (MIC) when the First Sprinkler System is first installed. More wall thickness at the thread (CRR=1.00) gives Dyna-Thread better life expectancy than lightwall threadable pipe joints. Unlike lightwall threadable pipe, Dyna-Thread has no thread gauge warning. Dyna-Thread is approved for standard hanger spacing (15 ft. O.C.), can be used as earthquake sway bracing, and is safe to use as drops. Dyna-Thread is safer to weld on. Dyna-Thread is more widely accepted than lightwall threadable where Sch-40 is specified. Super 40/Dyria-Thread pipe is manufactured to meet: ASTM A-135, Grade A and is in compliance with NFPA-13. All sizes of Super 40/Dyna- Thread are rated at 300 psi working pressure. Super 40/Dyna-Thread is UL and ULC Listed for wet, dry deluge and pre-action sprinkler systems and FM Approved for use in wet systems. Super 40/Dyna-Thread can be "hot-dip" galvanized to meet FM requirement for dry systems. Super 40/Dyna-Thread is approved for all threaded couplings and welded outlets and is suitable for all roll-grooved, and plain-end fittings. (See listing information). They are stronger and more corrosion resistant than cast iron fittings. The additional strength is provided by the ductile properties and by adding mag- nesium while the iron is being poured into the final cast shape. Although lighter than standard cast iron, the fit- tings have an added advantage of be- ing less susceptible to cracking due to their added strength. The Series 800, California, and Figure 719 Threaded Pipe Fittings are a re- designation for the Central Series 800, California, and Figure 719 Threaded Pipe Fittings. WARNINGS The Threaded Pipe Fittings described herein must be installed and main- tained in compliance with this docu- ment, as well as with the applicable standards of the National Fire Pro- tection Association, in addition to the standards of any other authorities hav- ing jurisdiction. Failure to do so may impair the performance of these devices. The owner is responsible for maintain- ing their fire protection system and de- vices in proper operating condition. The installing contractor or sprinkler manufacturer should be contacted with any questions. NOTE Installers who have not used ductile iron threaded fittings should be in- structed that the fittings are stron- ger than the pipe and overtightening the fitting can create leaks and cause damage to pipe threads. In genera!, there is about one-half turn difference between cast iron and ductile iron fit- tings. Apply Teflon tape or high qual- ity pipe joint compound on the male pipe threads and tighten two to three turns beyond hand tight. If an auto- matic make-on machine is being used, please exercise caution in setting the machine to the proper parameters pri- or to tightening fittings onto the male pipe threads. The Models F1FR56, F1FR56LL, F1FR42, F1FR42LL, F1FRXLH & F1FR28 Series Recessed automatic sprinklers utilize a 3.0 mm frangible glass bulb. These sprinklers have demonstrated response times in laboratory tests which are five to ten times faster than standard response sprinklers. This quick response enables the Model Fl FR56, Fl FR56LL, Conventional bid'.... Recessed Pendent/F1/F2 Recessed Pendent/FP XLH Recessed Pendent F1/F2 F1FR42, F1FR42LL, F1FRXLH & F1FR28 Series sprinklers to apply wa- ter to a fire much faster than standard sprinklers of the same temperature rat- ing. The glass bulb consists of an accu- rately controlled amount of special fluid XLH Recessed hermetically sealed inside a precisely Pendent FP manufactured glass capsule. This glass bulb is specially constructed to provide fast thermal response. At normal temperatures, the glass bulb contains the fluid in both the liquid and vapor phases. The vapor phase can be seen as a small bubble. As heat is applied, the liquid expands, forcing the bubble smaller and smaller as the liq- uid pressure increases. Continued heating forces the liquid to push out against the bulb, causing the glass to shatter, opening the waterway and allowing the deflector to distrib- ute the discharging water. Reliable Automatic Sprinkler Co., Inc., 103 Fairview Park Drive, Elmsford, New York 10523 Application Quick response sprinklers are used in fixed fire protection systems: Wet, Dry, Deluge or Preaction. Care must be exercised that the orifice size, temperature rating, deflector style and sprinkler type are in accordance with the latest Oesponse published standards of the National Fire Protection Association or the approving Authority Having Jurisdiction. Quick sprinklers are intended for installation as specified in NFPA 13. Quick response sprinklers and standard re- sponse sprinklers should not be intermixed. Important: The F1FR56 Sprinkler with Model COP cover plate is not an FM Approved combination. Installation Quick response sprinklers are intended for installation as specified in NFPA 13. Quick response sprinklers and stan- dard response sprinklers should not be intermixed. The Model F1FR56, F1FR56LL, F1FR42, F1FR42LL, F1FRXLH & F1FR28 Recessed Quick Response Sprin- lers are to be installed as shown. The Model Fl or F2 Es-0c,utcheons illustrated are the only recessed escutcheons to be used with the Model F1FR56, F1FR56LL, F1FR42, F1FR42LL, F1FRXLH & F1FR28 Sprinklers. The use of any other recessed escutcheon will void all approvals and ne- gate all warranties. When installing Model F1FR56, F1FR56LL, F1FR42, F1FR42LL, F1FRXLH & F1FR28 Sprinklers, use the Model D Sprinkler Wrench. Use the Model GFR2 Wrench for install- ing F1FR56, F1FR56LL, F1FR42, F1FR42LL, F1FRXLH & F1FR28 Recessed Pendent Sprinklers. Any other type of wrench may damage these sprinklers. NOTE: A leak tight ½" NPT (R112) sprinkler joint can be obtained with a torque of 8-18 ft-lbs (10,8 - 24,4 N-m). Do not tighten sprinklers over maximum recommended torque. It may cause leakage or impairment of the sprinklers. The Models F1FR56/OCP & F1FR56LLICCP Concealed Sprinkler use the ½" orifice, ½" NPT (R112), Model F1FR56 & F1FR56LL Pendent Sprinkler with a threaded Model COP cup which is factory attached to the sprinklers. The Model F1FR56 Pndent is available in temperature rating of 135°F (57°C), 155°F (68°C), 175°F (79°C) or 200°F (930C). The Model F1FR56LL Pendent is available only in a rating of 200°F (930C). The concealed sprinkler assemblies are com- pleted by the installation of the attractive low profile Model COP push on cover plate assembly, rated 135°F (57°C) or . 165°F (74°C) for the Fl FR56 and 165°F (74°C) for the F1FR56 LL. The cover plate and sprinkler cup assemblies are joined using a cover plate skirt with flexible tabs for threaded en- *DuPont Registered Trade Mark 6. Figure 2 gagement. A choice of two cover plate assemblies provide either 1/2" (13mm) or 5/8" (8mm) of cover adjustment, Do not install these sprinklers in ceiling which have positive pressure in the space above. After a 2/" (67mm) diameter hole is cut in the ceiling, the sprinkler is easily installed with the Model RC1 Wrench. A Teflon* based thread sealant should be applied to the sprin- kler threads only. The Model RO1 Wrench is then used to engage the sprinkler wrenching surfaces and to install the sprinkler in the fitting. When inserting or removing the wrench from the sprinkler/cup assembly, care should be tak- en to prevent damage to the sprinkler. DO NOT WRENCH ON ANY OTHER PART OF THE SPRINKLER. The cover plate is then pushed onto the cup. Final adjustment is made by hand turning the cover plate until the skirt flange makes full contact with the ceiling. Cover plate removal requires turning in the counter clockwise direction. After installation, inspect all sprinklers to ensure that there is a gap between the cover plate and ceiling and that the four cup slots are open and free from any air flow impedi- ment to the space above. Concealed cover plate/cup assemblies are listed only for use with specific sprinklers. The use of any other concealed cover plate/cup assembly with the Model Fl FR56 Pendent Sprinkler or the use of the Model COP Concealed cover plate assembly on any sprinkler with which it is not specifi- cally listed my prevent good fire protection and will void all guarantees, warranties, listings and approvals. Glass bulb sprinklers have orange bulb protectors to minimize bulb damage during shipping, handling and in- stallation. REMOVE THIS PROTECTION AT THE TIME THE SPRINKLER SYSTEM IS PLACED IN SERVICE FOR FIRE PROTECTION. Removal of the protectors before this time may leave the bulb vulnerable to damage. RASCO wrench- es are designed to install sprinklers when covers are in place. REMOVE PROTECTORS BY UNDOING THE CLASP BY HAND. DO NOT USE TOOLS TO REMOVE THE PRO- TECTORS. Concrete compressive strength must be at the specified minimum at the time of installation. Ultimate load capacities must be reduced by a minimum safety factor of 4.0 or greater to determine allowable working load. The tabulated load values are applicable to single anchors in uncracked concrete installed at critical spacing distance between anchors and at critical edge distance. Ultimate shear capacity is controlled by steel strength of ASIM A36 element (or equivalent). Carbon Steel Snake+ Screw Anchor Settinci Tool for Snake+ Screw Anchor Cat. No. Anchor Size Std.
