CARLSBAD GROWTH MANAGEMENT UPDATE ADVISORY COMMITTEE UPDATE: Chair Majer
updated the commissioners on the committee's progress, discussion items and challenges.
CARLSBAD VILLAGE BARRIO DESIGN REVIEW COMMITTEE UPDATE: Vice Chair Diaz reported
. on the discussion and examples of design standards. He reiterated the need to consider the
historical aspects of projects.
LIAISON TO THE CARLSBAD HISTORICAL SOCIETY: None.
COMMISSION LIAISON ANNOUNCEMENTS: All information was covered in the work plan
discussion .
COMMISSIONER COMMENTS: Ex-Officio Lafferty reported City Council, Planning Department
and Housing & Homeless Services held a workshop to create greater housing availability,
including a discussion on elements of affordable housing, how to work within the existing
infrastructure, and preserve historically important buildings in the community.
