Subject: Approval of the 2023 Regular Traffic & Mobility Commission Meeting Calendar
Recommended Action
Adopt a resolution approving the 2023 Regular Traffic & Mobility Commission Meeting
Calendar.
Background
The Traffic & Mobility Commission establishes its regular meeting schedule annually by
resolution. Adopting the calendar by resolution meets Brown Act requirements (California
Government Code Section 54954) and provides the Traffic & Mobility Commission the
opportunity to increase notification to the public of its scheduled regular meetings. Special
meetings can still be called as needed by providing 24-hour notice before the time of the
special meeting.
For calendar year 2023, staff propose one regular meeting per month, every first Monday of the
month except the month of January and September due to City observed holidays. Staff
propose that for the month of January the T&MC meeting be held on Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2023, and
for the month of September staff propose that the T&MC meeting be held on Tuesday, Sept. 5,
2023.
Fiscal Analysis
There are no significant fiscal impacts that would result from adoption of the attached
resolution.
Next Steps
The Minutes Clerk will distribute the approved calendar to the Traffic & Mobility Commission
and staff. In addition, the calendar will be posted on the City’s website.
Environmental Evaluation
This action does not constitute a “project” within the meaning of the California Environmental
Quality Act under California Public Resources Code Section 21065 in that it has no potential to

cause either a direct physical change in the environment, or a reasonably foreseeable indirect
physical change in the environment. Therefore, it does not require environmental review.
Public Notification
This item was noticed in keeping with the Ralph M. Brown Act and it was available for public
viewing and review at least 72 hours before the scheduled meeting date.

RESOLUTION NO. .
A RESOLUTION OF THE TRAFFIC AND MOBILITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING THE 2023 REGULAR
TRAFFIC AND MOBILITY COMMISSION MEETING CALENDAR
WHEREAS, the Traffic and Mobility Commission has determined that it will establish its
scheduled regular meetings annually by resolution; and
WHEREAS, the Ralph M. Brown Act, specifically California Government Code Section 54954,
provides for the establishment of an annual regular meeting calendar procedure; and
WHEREAS, all regular meetings will be scheduled to take place at 4 p.m. at the Council Chamber
located at 1200 Carlsbad Village Drive; and
WHEREAS, special meetings of the Traffic and Mobility Commission will be called as necessary
following the requirements of the Brown Act, specifically California Government Code section 54956.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Traffic and Mobility Commission of the City of
Carlsbad, California, as follows:
1.That the above recitations are true and correct.
2.That the 2023 calendar establishing the dates and locations for regular Traffic and
Mobility Commission meetings (Attachment A) is approved.
3.That the 2023 calendar will be posted to the city’s website.
4.That all regular meetings will be scheduled to take place at 4 p.m. at the Council
Chamber located at 1200 Carlsbad Village Drive.
